Messages for Those Awaiting the Harpazo

A deep dive through the Gospels, Epistles, and Revelation as if every word was prepared specifically for this generation - those alive at the time of Christ's coming for His Bride

I. THE URGENT CALL TO WATCHFULNESS

The Central Command: "Watch Therefore"

Jesus speaks directly to us with unprecedented urgency:

"Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming... Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." Matthew 24:42, 44

"What I say to you, I say to all: Watch!" (Mark 13:37)

This is not casual advice - this is a direct command to our generation. Jesus repeats the word "watch" over and over because He knows we would be living in the very generation that would see His return. The intensity of His repetition indicates the critical nature of this moment in history.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins: Our Generation's Test

"Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom... And while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!'" (Matthew 25:1, 5-6)

This parable is speaking directly to us. We are the generation experiencing the "delay" - nearly 2,000 years. But notice: the cry comes at "midnight" - the darkest hour. We are living in that midnight hour right now, and the cry is going out: "Behold, the bridegroom is coming!"

II. THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES: OUR GENERATION'S FINGERPRINTS

The Fig Tree Generation

"Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place." (Matthew 24:32-34)

The fig tree represents Israel. In 1948, Israel became a nation again - the fig tree putting forth leaves. Jesus is speaking to the generation born in 1948 or after - the generation that will witness the Second Coming of Christ. According to Matthew 24:34, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

Knowledge Shall Increase

"But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." (Daniel 12:4)

In Daniel chapter 12 God instructed Daniel to seal up the prophecies in the book until the last days. He describes how knowledge will increase dramatically as the Second Coming of Christ approaches. We are the first generation in history to see knowledge doubling every year or less. This is our sign.

Wars, Famines, and Pestilences

"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars... For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places." (Matthew 24:6-7)

We have just witnessed a global pandemic, we see wars escalating worldwide, and natural disasters increasing. These are not random events - they are birth pangs announcing the arrival of the King.

III. THE RAPTURE: OUR BLESSED HOPE

The Promise to the Church

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14:1-3)

Jesus is speaking personally to each of us. He has been preparing our place for 2,000 years. The construction is complete. He is ready to come for us.

The Mystery Revealed

"Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." (1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

This mystery was specifically revealed for our generation. Paul wasn't speaking to his contemporaries about being "caught up" - he was speaking to us, the generation that would experience the Harpazo.

The Imminent Return

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God." (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

Unlike the Second Coming, no signs will precede the Rapture. This is called the doctrine of imminency—that is, the Rapture is imminent; it could happen at any moment. We are living in that moment.

IV. THE CHURCH OF LAODICEA: OUR PROPHETIC MIRROR

The Lukewarm Church

"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked." (Revelation 3:15-17)

This is a direct description of the Western church in our generation. We are materially wealthy but spiritually impoverished. This is the final church age before the Rapture.

The Urgent Call to Repentance

"As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock." (Revelation 3:19-20)

Jesus is at the door RIGHT NOW, speaking to our generation. The knocking is getting louder.

V. THE APOSTATE GENERATION

The Falling Away

"Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed." (2 Thessalonians 2:3)

We are witnessing the greatest apostasy in church history. Churches are abandoning biblical truth, embracing false doctrines, and falling away from the faith. This apostasy must happen before the Day of the Lord begins.

Perilous Times

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power." (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

This is a perfect description of our generation. Paul is writing directly to us, warning us about the moral climate we would face in the last days.

VI. THE PHILADELPHIA CHURCH: THE FAITHFUL REMNANT

The Promise of Protection

"Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly!" (Revelation 3:10-11)

This promise is for the faithful church - those who have kept His word and not denied His name. We will be kept FROM (not through) the hour of trial. This is the Rapture promise.

The Open Door

"I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name." (Revelation 3:8)

The open door represents the Rapture - our exit from this world before the tribulation begins.

VII. THE TRIBULATION: WHAT WE WILL ESCAPE

The Great Tribulation

"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved." (Matthew 24:21-22)

This is not for the church. This is God's wrath upon a Christ-rejecting world. We are "not appointed to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

The Seal Judgments

The seven seals in Revelation 6 begin the tribulation period. Notice that the church is seen in heaven in Revelation 4-5, before the seals are opened. We will witness these judgments from heaven, not earth.

VIII. THE SCOFFERS AND MOCKERS

The Prediction of Unbelief

"Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.'" (2 Peter 3:3-4)

We are seeing this exact attitude today. Even in the church, people are mocking the idea of the Rapture and the Second Coming. This scoffing is itself a sign that we are in the last days.

The Think-Not Generation

Jesus said He would intentionally choose a timeframe when Christians are not expecting His return. As a result, the most unlikely time for His return becomes, actually, the most likely time for the rapture.

"Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." (Matthew 24:44)

IX. THE BRIDE'S PREPARATION

Purification and Holiness

"And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." (1 John 3:3)

The expectation of His coming should drive us to holiness. We are preparing as His bride.

The Wedding Garments

"Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints." (Revelation 19:7-8)

We are making ourselves ready RIGHT NOW through righteous living and faithful service.

X. THE FINAL WARNINGS AND PROMISES

Jesus' Last Words

"He who testifies to these things says, 'Surely I am coming quickly.' Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!" (Revelation 22:20)

These are Jesus' final words in Scripture - spoken directly to our generation. Jesus last words given in the book of Revelation 22:20 - "Surely I am coming quickly." As a student of bible prophecy for many years, there is not one thing that must be happen before the rapture. It is imminent.

The Spirit and the Bride Say "Come!"

"And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' And let him who hears say, 'Come!'" (Revelation 22:17)

We are the bride crying out "Come!" Our very longing for His return is evidence that we are the final generation.

XI. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS FOR OUR GENERATION

How Then Shall We Live?
WATCH AND PRAY - Stay alert and maintain constant communion with God
OCCUPY TILL I COME - Continue faithful service until He returns
BE READY - Live with holy expectancy
COMFORT ONE ANOTHER - Share the blessed hope with fellow believers
PURIFY YOURSELVES - Live as His holy bride preparing for the wedding
PREACH THE GOSPEL - There's still time to reach the lost
LOVE NOT THE WORLD - Keep our affections set on things above

The Urgency of Now

Every day could be THE day. Every sunrise could be our last on this earth. Every sunset could be followed by the cry, "Come up here!" We are living in the most exciting time in human history - we are the generation that will see Jesus!

THE FINAL CALL

Jesus is speaking directly to you, dear believer. You were born for such a time as this. You are part of the final generation. The signs are all around us. The stage is set. The players are in position.

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28)

Your redemption is drawing nigh. The King is coming. The trumpet is about to sound. The shout is about to be heard. The voice of the archangel is about to echo through the heavens.

"Even so, come, Lord Jesus!" (Revelation 22:20)

Are you ready? Are you watching? Are you prepared to meet your Bridegroom?

The time is now. The generation is us. The return is imminent.
