The Humble Servant of God

“We are His Masterpiece, His Best Work of All…”

We are invited to lay down our lives, the arms of rebellion, and step into the obedience of Jesus Christ. Imagine a world where our hearts beat not to the drum of self-preservation but to the cadence of self-sacrifice, where laying down our lives becomes not a burden but a joyous leap of faith into arms empowered by God’s beautiful Grace.

"And sitting down, He called the twelve and *said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” Mark 9:35

This is the call from above—an invitation to shed ego for Jesus’ full Humility, to turn our every breath, step, and action into a living, breathing testament to God's glory.

"Whoever strives to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will keep it." Luke 17:33

Waiting on God is an adventure, not of solitary confinement within the walls of comfort, but a bold march into the unknown, with Jesus as our teacher and compass, and His word as our map.

"For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 16:25

The journey of death to self doesn't ask for the qualified, the mighty, or the self-assured; Jesus seeks the humble, the willing, and those who recognize His strength is found only in our weakness.

Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16

Here, in surrendering everything we are and all we hope to be, is the life of divine purpose and eternal impact.

“For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it." Mark 8:35

It's in our emptying that we are filled, in our losing that we find, and in our dying, we are reborn to eternal life.

"But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18

Let's not just dip our toes into the waters of obedience; let's dive headfirst into the depths of God's love, where every act of surrender is met with the overwhelming flood of His grace.

"For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified." Romans 8:29-30

Let's laugh in the face of fear, dance on the waves of uncertainty, and throw our lives into the hands of the One who promises to work wonders through our willing, surrendered hearts.

"But the man who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped away while there was a crowd in that place." John 5:13

The world awaits OUR SHINE, walking in the way of Jesus, the humble servant, who calls us to follow Him in obedience, to light up the darkness with the message of His love, and to be the living epistles of His Grace to a world in desperate need of hope.

His full Humility, complete surrender, and absolute obedience are our gift, call, mission, and greatest joy—to glorify God in everything, with every breath we take, in every moment we live.

"For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God." John 5:18

We are the Humble Servants of God, the Servants of His Glory

We are called and equipped by God’s Grace to obey Jesus, the Word of God. We are empowered by Grace to hear His voice and to follow in absolute obedience.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." Isaiah 60:1

It is His obedience working in and through us, by Grace working through His love.

"Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in the same way." John 5:19

Jesus promises to perfect us in our weakness. His obedience will be made full in and through our weaknesses. God’s Grace cannot flow in our strength because we have none. We need His Grace to fulfill the command of obedience. He is obedient on our behalf by Grace.

"For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will be amazed." John 5:20

Every part of our lives was made for the Glory of God. We were made to manifest, display, and demonstrate God’s Glory throughout the universe and all creation. We are God’s crown jewel, the love of His heart, and He wishes to demonstrate His love for us through His Grace.

"For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes." John 5:21

God shines His Goodness and Glory in us and through us, specifically through our weaknesses. If we are humble and confess our weaknesses to Him, He strengthens us through His Grace, working in our weakness. He gives us His life. In this case, He gives us His Humility and Obedience to bring Glory to His Father as He shines in us and through us.

"so that all will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him." John 5:23

We are called and equipped to follow Jesus. He works His surrender and Humility in us so we can be obedient. He has given us the strength and the desire to lay down our lives, which is counter-intuitive. We can’t do it, so He did it for us.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." John 5:24

We are called to give up everything, to lose our entire life and give it to God to work His life in us and through us, bringing glory to His name.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, a time is coming and even now has arrived, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live." John 5:25

In and of myself, I have no power, wisdom, insight, or understanding. I have no vision or prophecy. I surrender everything I have to Jesus, my entire life, laying down everything, surrendering all because I have nothing. If I have anything, it is “weakness.” I surrender everything I have to Jesus, which is my weakness.

"For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;" John 5:26

Having surrendered all, having laid down my life, I take no offense. By God’s Grace, I am not offended. Instead of offense, I am empowered to love my enemies and those who say all kinds of bad things about me. By Grace, I can love my enemies and serve those who hate me and want to hurt me.

"and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man." John 5:27

Having been made in God’s likeness, which is radical generosity and self-giving love, I am just the lowly messenger of the King. I am not the King, but I carry His message as His Ambassador. I am not the message, but I am empowered to spread the message. I am not the source of the message or its fulfillment. I am not the power of the message; I have none. I am not responsible for the impact or the outcome of the message. I am only the humble messenger. My life, laid down and surrendered to Jesus, is the message. Jesus works His message through those humbled, surrendered, and equipped by Grace to be obedient.

"and will come out: those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the bad deeds to a resurrection of judgment." John 5:29

Jesus is responsible for transforming us. We can’t transform ourselves. Jesus gives us His Humility so that we can lay down our lives. We trust Jesus, who is the MASTER OF OUR LIVES, to teach us how to live our lives as if He were us.

“I can do nothing on My own. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of Him who sent Me." John 5:30

Jesus is training us to reign in His Humility and Self-giving Love. When fully surrendered to Jesus, we become the living word of God as Jesus works His life through us. Jesus is the message, the source of the message, and the power to fulfill the message. We are merely the surrendered messengers.

"There is another who testifies about Me, and I know that the testimony which He gives about Me is true." John 5:32

We are called and equipped to be the witnesses of His Glory. We are His chosen vessels to carry His Glory to shine in the world. We are living witnesses of the love of God, to the glory of God. God’s love is His glory, and He wants to shine His glory through us, through our surrendered lives, obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit.

"But the testimony I receive is not from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved." John 5:34

Through His Humility, Jesus granted us access to the Tree of Life and restored it. Jesus is the King of Glory, and His Glory is in His eternal life from the Tree of Life.

"He was the lamp that was burning and shining, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light." John 5:35

Jesus grants us His strength and power to obey His Word of Life working through us. Jesus works His obedience in and through us as we surrender our weaknesses. Jesus’ strength and power work through our weaknesses.

"But the testimony I have is greater than the testimony of John; for the works which the Father has given Me to accomplish—the very works that I do—testify about Me, that the Father has sent Me." John 5:36

We have nothing in and of ourselves. We have no message, no strength, and no power. When we lay down our lives and surrender all, especially our weaknesses and faults, Jesus gives us HIS LIFE, HIS FULL LIFE. This is when HE SHINES THROUGH US. Jesus works His life in us and through us.

"And the Father who sent Me, He has testified about Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form." John 5:37

We wait for Jesus to transform us. He is obedient to transform us as we surrender our weaknesses to Him. In Humility, we wait for Jesus to work His obedience through us. His obedience is to glorify the Father. We wait for Jesus to work God’s power and life in and through us.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." Isaiah 60:1

We wait for Jesus to make us Holy. Only He can make us Holy. We wait for Jesus to make us Righteous. Only He can make us Righteous. We wait upon Jesus to do the works of God, the Greater works of God.

"You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;" John 5:39

As we wait, we are waiting for Jesus to transform the entire world into the New Humanity. The old is passing away, and the NEW HAS COME–The New Humanity. The second Adam has come—the life-giving Spirit.

"and yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life." John 5:40

We wait in God’s presence of love as He transforms us into the image of Christ. He will glorify His humble servants. We wait upon His transformation so that we can be His witnesses.

"I do not receive glory from people;" John 5:41
