Our Blessed Hope Continued from Page 1
2 Corinthians 11:2
“For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.”
We are betrothed now, awaiting the marriage.
The Parallel Pattern: Adam and the Last Adam
First Adam (Genesis 2) Last Adam Jesus (Gospel/Revelation)
Alone in paradise Alone in glory?
God said “not good to be alone” God’s eternal purpose for a Bride
Deep sleep fell on Adam Jesus’ death on the cross
Side opened, bride formed John 19:34 “one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water”
Adam did not ask Jesus prays for His own (John 17) but the Father initiates
Bride brought to him Bride presented to Him (Ephesians 5:27)
“Bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh” Ephesians 5:30 “we are members of his body”
One flesh union Ephesians 5:31-32 “The two shall become one flesh… refers to Christ and the church”
The “Deep Sleep” The Cross
Just as Eve was formed while Adam slept (and his side was opened), the Church was purchased when Jesus died (His side was pierced):
John 19:34 “But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.”
1 John 5:6-8 “This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ… the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree.”
From Christ’s wounded side came the means of the Church’s birth:
Blood = atonement, cleansing (Ephesians 5:25-26)
Water = new birth, washing (Titus 3:5, Ephesians 5:26)
Spirit = life-giving power (John 6:63)
Is It Good for Jesus to Have a Bride?
God’s Eternal Purpose
Ephesians 1:4-6 “Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace”
The Church was planned before creation this was God’s eternal purpose.
Ephesians 3:10-11 “So that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The Church displays God’s wisdom it was His eternal purpose.
Jesus’ Own Desire
John 17:24 “Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.”
Jesus desires His people to be with Him. He wants communion, not isolation.
Hebrews 2:11-13 “For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, ‘I will tell of your name to my brothers’… ‘Behold, I and the children God has given me.’”
Jesus is not ashamed to call us brothers He embraces relationship.
Isaiah 53:11 “Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied”
Jesus will be satisfied by His redeemed people.
The Eternal Communion Within the Trinity
Even before creation, God existed in perfect love and communion:
John 17:24 “You loved me before the foundation of the world”
John 17:5 “And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.”
But God chose to expand that communion by creating a Bride for His Son. This was not from need but from overflow of love.
Is the Bride a “Helper”?
The Hebrew word in Genesis 2:18 is ’ezer “helper.”
Interestingly, this same word is used of God Himself as Israel’s helper:
Psalm 33:20 “our help and our shield”
Psalm 70:5 “You are my help and my deliverer”
Deuteronomy 33:29 “the LORD… your shield and helper”
So “helper” doesn’t imply inferiority it means one who comes alongside, a corresponding partner.
Does Jesus “Need” Help?
No Jesus is self-sufficient as God:
Acts 17:25 “nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything”
Colossians 1:17 “in him all things hold together”
But does He desire a Bride? Yes.
Does the Bride bring Him joy? Yes.
Zephaniah 3:17 “The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
Isaiah 62:5 “As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.”
The relationship brings mutual joy not because Jesus lacks anything, but because love delights in communion.
Is the Harpazo the Wedding Itself?
This requires careful examination of the sequence:
The Current State: Betrothal
2 Corinthians 11:2 “I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.”
We are currently betrothed (engaged), not yet married.
In Jewish culture:
Betrothal (binding legal commitment)
Preparation period (groom prepares dwelling)
Groom comes for bride (often unexpectedly)
Wedding ceremony
Wedding feast
John 14:2-3 The Preparation
“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
Jesus (the Groom) is preparing the place.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 The Coming for the Bride
“For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command… Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.”
The Harpazo appears to be the groom coming for the bride the moment He takes her to Himself.
Revelation 19:7-9 The Marriage Supper
“The marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready… Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.”
This occurs after events in heaven (Revelation 4-18), suggesting the marriage ceremony/feast occurs after the Church is taken up.
Possible Sequence:
Now: Betrothal period (Church age)
Harpazo (1 Thess 4:16-17): Groom comes for Bride, takes her to Father’s house
Marriage ceremony (Revelation 19:7): In heaven
Marriage feast (Revelation 19:9): Celebration
Return together (Revelation 19:14): “the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him”
So the Harpazo is likely the beginning of the wedding process when the Groom comes for His Bride with the actual ceremony and feast following in heaven before the Second Coming to earth.
What Can Separate Us From Christ?
Romans 8:35-39 The Definitive Answer
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?… No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
NOTHING can separate us from His love.
The Security of the Believer Multiple Witnesses
John 10:28-29 “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”
Philippians 1:6 “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
Jude 24 “Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy”
Ephesians 1:13-14 “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it”
2 Timothy 1:12 “I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.”
Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Hebrews 7:25 “Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”
The Marriage Is Secure
Just as Adam received Eve (he didn’t earn her, work for her, or maintain the relationship by his merit), we receive Christ by faith.
The relationship is secured by:
God’s choice (Ephesians 1:4 “he chose us”)
Christ’s purchase (1 Corinthians 6:20 “you were bought with a price”)
Spirit’s seal (Ephesians 1:13 “sealed with the Holy Spirit”)
Father’s keeping (John 10:29 “no one can snatch them from the Father’s hand”)
Christ’s intercession (Hebrews 7:25 “he always lives to make intercession”)
Can We Separate Ourselves?
John 6:37 “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.”
John 6:39 “And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.”
Jesus promises He will lose none that the Father has given Him.
Romans 5:8-10 “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.”
If God reconciled us when we were enemies, how much more will He keep us now that we are children?
The Beautiful Answer
Yes, It Is Good for Jesus to Have a Bride
God’s eternal purpose included the Church as Christ’s Bride (Ephesians 1:4, 3:11)
Jesus desires His people to be with Him (John 17:24)
The pattern is clear: Just as Adam received Eve without asking (God’s initiative), Jesus receives a Bride prepared by the Father
The Bride is called His “body” (Ephesians 5:30) inseparable union
Mutual joy: Jesus rejoices over the Bride (Zephaniah 3:17, Isaiah 62:5)
The Harpazo is the Groom coming for His Bride the beginning of the wedding process, culminating in the marriage supper (Revelation 19:7-9)
Nothing can separate us from Christ neither external forces nor our own weakness:
His choice is eternal (Ephesians 1:4)
His purchase is complete (1 Corinthians 6:20)
His keeping is perfect (John 10:28-29)
His intercession is continuous (Hebrews 7:25)
His promise is unbreakable (John 6:37, 39)
The Ultimate Security
Colossians 3:3-4 “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
Our life is hidden with Christ in God triply secure!
The Marriage Cannot Fail
Just as Adam could not “divorce” Eve (they were one flesh by God’s design), Christ and the Church are eternally one. The union is:
Purposed before creation (Ephesians 1:4)
Purchased by His blood (Acts 20:28)
Sealed by the Spirit (Ephesians 1:13)
Secured by His power (1 Peter 1:5)
Certain to be consummated (Revelation 19:7)
It was not good for Adam to be alone. It is not good for the Last Adam to be alone. And He will not be alone. At the Harpazo, the Bridegroom comes for His Bride, and nothing—absolutely nothing—can separate us from His love.
What Is Jesus Doing Right Now?
Jesus’ Current Location and Posture
Acts 1:9-11 “And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.’”
Jesus ascended and is in heaven.
Acts 7:55-56 (Stephen’s Vision) “But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, ‘Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.’”
Note: Jesus was standing (not sitting) at Stephen’s martyrdom actively engaged.
Hebrews 1:3 “After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high”
Hebrews 10:12 “But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God”
Hebrews 12:2 “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
He sat down the work of atonement is finished (John 19:30).
What Jesus Is Doing Right Now Seven Activities
1. INTERCEDING for His People
Hebrews 7:25 “Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”
Romans 8:34 “Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.”
1 John 2:1 “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”
Jesus is continuously praying for His people, advocating before the Father.
We Have a Pattern: John 17 The High Priestly Prayer
John 17:9, 11, 15, 20, 24
“I am praying for them… I am not praying for the world”
“Holy Father, keep them in your name”
“I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one”
“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word”
“Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am”
This gives us insight into His current intercession praying for our:
Protection (“keep them”)
Sanctification (“sanctify them in the truth,” v. 17)
Unity (“that they may be one,” v. 21)
Ultimate glorification (“that they… may be with me where I am”)
2. PREPARING a Place
John 14:2-3 “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
Present tense reality: He is preparing dwelling places for His Bride.
3. WAITING for the Father’s Appointed Time
Hebrews 10:12-13 “But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet.”
Acts 3:20-21 “That times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke”
Jesus is waiting for the Father’s signal.
4. SUSTAINING All Things
Hebrews 1:3 “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.”
Colossians 1:17 “And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
Right now, every atom is held together by His power. Every heartbeat, every breath He sustains it all.
5. BUILDING His Church
Matthew 16:18 “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Ephesians 2:20-22 “Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”
Through the Spirit, Jesus is actively adding to the Church, calling His sheep, building His temple.
6. REIGNING as King
Psalm 110:1-2 “The LORD says to my Lord: ‘Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.’ The LORD sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies!”
1 Corinthians 15:25 “For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.”
Matthew 28:18 “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
Jesus is actively ruling though His kingdom is not yet fully manifested on earth.
7. WORKING Through His Spirit in Believers
John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.”
Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
Jesus is actively working through His body on earth via the indwelling Spirit.
If We Were Jesus What Would We Be Thinking?
This requires careful scriptural inference based on what Jesus has revealed about His mind and emotions:
1. EAGER ANTICIPATION Longing for the Wedding
Luke 12:49-50 “I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished!”
This shows Jesus’ capacity for eager longing and anticipation.
Hebrews 12:2 “Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross”
What is that joy? His redeemed Bride.
Isaiah 53:11 “Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.”
Jesus will be satisfied when He sees the fruit of His suffering His people glorified.
Revelation 22:17 “The Spirit and the Bride say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come.’… He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming soon.’”
The urgency in “Surely I am coming soon” suggests eager anticipation.
2. DELIGHT in His People Even Now
Zephaniah 3:17 “The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
Isaiah 62:5 “As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.”
Even in our imperfect state, He rejoices over us.
3. COMPASSION for Struggling Saints
Hebrews 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
Hebrews 2:18 “For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”
When we struggle, He feels it and helps.
4. GRIEF Over the Lost
Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!”
Luke 19:41-42 “And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying, ‘Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace!’”
Jesus wept over Jerusalem’s rejection. Does He still grieve over the lost? Scripture suggests yes.
2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
5. PATIENCE But Not Indefinitely
2 Peter 3:9, 15 “The Lord… is patient toward you… count the patience of our Lord as salvation”
But this patience has a limit:
Revelation 22:12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me”
Matthew 24:44 “Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
6. CONFIDENT ASSURANCE
John 6:39 “And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.”
Jesus has complete confidence He will lose none of His own.
John 17:24 “Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am”
This is not uncertain hope it’s confident desire that will be fulfilled.
The Mind of Christ Scripture’s Direct Teaching
Philippians 2:5-8 “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
The mind of Christ is characterized by:
Humility (not grasping)
Self-giving love (emptied himself)
Obedience to the Father (even to death)
Servant-heartedness
1 Corinthians 2:16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”
Believers possess the mind of Christ through the Spirit.
What This Mind Thinks About
Colossians 3:1-2 “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
Jesus’ mind is focused on heavenly realities, eternal purposes, the Father’s glory.
Jesus’ Priorities (From His Own Words)
John 4:34 “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.”
John 17:4 “I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.”
Even now, Jesus’ mind is consumed with:
The Father’s will
The Father’s glory
Completing the work (which includes returning for His Bride)
What the Angels Are Seeing
Angels as Witnesses to Redemption
1 Peter 1:12 “It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.”
Angels are fascinated observers of salvation “longing to look” into these mysteries.
Ephesians 3:10 “So that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.”
The Church displays God’s wisdom to angelic beings.
What Angels See Right Now
1. They See Jesus at the Father’s Right Hand
1 Timothy 3:16 “He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.”
Angels witnessed His ascension and see His current glory.
2. They See Him Interceding
Hebrews 7:25 His continuous intercession
Angels likely witness this perpetual advocacy before the Father.
3. They See the Bride Being Prepared
Revelation 19:7-8 “Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure—for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.”
Angels watch as the Bride prepares each saint being sanctified, each “righteous deed” adding to the Bride’s garment.
4. They See Him Waiting
Hebrews 10:13 “waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool”
Angels observe His patient waiting for the Father’s appointed moment.
5. They Marvel at the Mystery
1 Corinthians 2:7-8 “But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”
Even angels didn’t fully understand the plan until it unfolded.
1 Peter 1:12 They “long to look into” these things
Angels’ Anticipation
Luke 15:10 “Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
If angels rejoice at each conversion, imagine their anticipation for the completion of the Bride!
Matthew 24:31 “And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
Angels know they will participate in the gathering.
Revelation 19:14 “And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses.”
Angels will witness (and possibly participate in) the triumphal return with the Bride.
What Angels Might Be Thinking
Based on Scripture’s hints:
“How long, O Lord?” (Revelation 6:10 even martyred saints ask this)
“The time is near” Growing anticipation as prophecies unfold
“Behold, the Bridegroom!” Watching for the moment He rises to go get His Bride
“The number is almost complete” (cf. Revelation 6:11 “until the number of their fellow servants… should be complete”)
“Look at His patience!” (2 Peter 3:9)
“See how He loves them!” (Observing His intercession)
The Present Moment A Scriptural Synthesis
Jesus Right Now Is:
Seated in finished rest (atonement complete) yet active in seven ways
Interceding continuously for every believer
Preparing dwelling places for His Bride
Sustaining all creation by His power
Building His Church calling His sheep
Waiting (with eager anticipation) for the Father’s signal
Longing for the day He can say, “It is time go get My Bride”
His Frame of Mind (The Mind of Christ)
Complete confidence “I will lose none” (John 6:39)
Eager anticipation “For the joy set before Him” (Hebrews 12:2)
Patient love Not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9)
Tender compassion Sympathizes with our weakness (Hebrews 4:15)
Focused purpose Doing the Father’s will (John 4:34)
Joyful delight Rejoicing over His people even now (Zephaniah 3:17)
Holy impatience “Surely I am coming soon” (Revelation 22:20)
What Angels See
The Bridegroom in glory, seated at the Father’s right hand
The Intercessor praying without ceasing for His own
The Builder preparing mansions for His Bride
The Patient One waiting for the Father’s word
The Bride being made ready washed, sanctified, adorned
The countdown prophecies fulfilling, time shortening
The crescendo approaching the moment when He will rise and say, “It is time”
The Moment Before the Harpazo A Scriptural Imagination
While Scripture doesn’t describe this exact moment, we can reverently infer from what is revealed:
The Father: “Son, the Bride is ready. The number is complete. Go.”
Jesus rises (remember Stephen saw Him standing Acts 7:56)
The command is given 1 Thessalonians 4:16: “with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of God’s trumpet”
Angels mobilize Matthew 24:31: “he will send out his angels”
The Bridegroom comes for His Bride John 14:3: “I will come again and will take you to myself”
Jesus’ Thought in That Moment (Scriptural Inference)
“Finally! The moment I’ve waited for since before creation!”
“Come, My Bride, My beloved, My treasured possession!”
“No more tears, no more death, no more separation forever with Me!”
“The joy for which I endured the cross fulfilled!”
Isaiah 53:11 “He shall see the fruit of the travail of his soul and be satisfied”
The Present Reality
2 Thessalonians 3:5 “May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.”
Right now:
Jesus loves us perfectly
He prays for us constantly
He prepares for us diligently
He waits for us patiently (yet eagerly)
He sustains us powerfully
He longs for us passionately
The angels watch in wonder witnessing the greatest love story ever told approaching its climax.
And soon perhaps very soon the Father will give the word, Jesus will rise, the trumpet will sound, and the Bridegroom will come for His Bride.
Revelation 22:20 “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!”
This is not distant doctrine this is present reality. Jesus is actively engaged right now in every aspect of bringing His Bride home. The preparation is nearly complete. The wait is almost over. The wedding is approaching.
Final Reflection
Grace IS the Person of Christ, the Tree of Life restored. Peace flows from Grace beginning with reconciliation, growing through sanctification, culminating in glorification at the Harpazo.
We access Him through simple childlike faith receiving His righteousness as a gift, being transformed by His Spirit, awaiting the consummation of perfect peace when:
We receive incorruptible, imperishable glorified bodies
We are made one with Christ forever
The Bride is united with the Bridegroom
All creation is restored to shalom
It was not good for Adam to be alone. It is not good for the Last Adam to be alone. And He will not be alone.
Even now, Jesus intercedes for us, prepares for us, and waits with eager longing for the moment when He will come for His Bride. Nothing can separate us from His love. The marriage is certain. The hope is blessed. The joy is set before us.
Maranatha Come, Lord Jesus!
