Jesus Has EVERYTHING Covered
The Radical Love Story Behind HIS Rescue
For too long, the STORY OF GOD has been told backward. We begin with our struggle, our sin, our desperate need for salvation. We ask, "How do I get forgiven and clean (righteous)?" But that is not the start of the story.
The True Starting Line is a Revolution.
It is the raw, untamed, uncaused fire of Divine Love that existed before time and blazing brightly, overflowing into creation by design.
This is the deepest, most shattering truth you will ever confront:
God did not create you because He was lonely, but because He is LOVE, and Love must share itself.
This love is so absolute, so radically free, that it risked the ultimate betrayal—it created beings with genuine free will, knowing with absolute certainty that they would rise up in rebellion, choose darkness, and become His enemies.
What kind of God looks through the entirety of human history—sees the betrayal in Eden, the corruption of the Divine Council (Genesis 6), the defiance of Babel, and the ultimate, hideous crime of crucifying His own Son—and yet says, "I will create anyway," for the glory of redeeming rebels will outshine the tragedy of the rebellion itself?
This is not a polite religion. This is the savage, beautiful, eternal romance of the Trinity pursuing a Bride from the dust.
Prepare to have every assumption shattered. Prepare to confront a love that is not earned, cannot be lost, and is so entirely one-sided it eliminates all human boasting.
We were not just sick; we were DEAD. We were not just indifferent; we were HOSTILE ENEMIES.
And in that moment, while we were dead and hostile, Christ died for us.
This article is the unvarnished truth of that eternal, unstoppable love. It is the story beneath the story.
It is the core reality that exposes all human religion as useless striving and replaces it with the radical rest of a finished work.
Let the truth of His unearned grace overwhelm your soul and crush every lie of performance and self-salvation.
The only way to begin is here: You are loved with an everlasting love, and the only response is breathless, grateful adoration. Dive in and find the life-altering, mind-bending power of the deepest truth.
“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”— 1 John 4:10
PROLOGUE: The Question That Changes Everything
We’ve traced the three rebellions—Eden, Genesis 6, and Babel. We’ve seen the devastation, the judgment, the ongoing effects in our broken world today.
But there’s a question beneath all of this that demands an answer:
WHY didn’t God just destroy everything and start over?
Why did He persist in loving rebels?
Why did He choose to rescue rather than obliterate?
Why did the Cross happen at all?
The answer is so radical, so overwhelming, so contrary to everything our human minds except, that when you truly grasp it, your entire existence shifts.
The answer is: LOVE.
But not human love. Divine love. Eternal love. Uncaused love. Undeserved love. Unstoppable love.
This is the story beneath the story—the deepest truth behind rebellion and rescue.
-----
BEFORE ANYTHING: Love Already Existed
1 John 4:8 “The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
Not “God has love.” God IS love.
Love isn’t something God does or possesses. Love is what God fundamentally IS.
Before creation, before time, before angels, before humans—there was LOVE.
The Trinity—Father, Son, Holy Spirit—existed in perfect, eternal, infinite love.
John 17:24 “Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”
“You loved Me BEFORE the foundation of the world.”
The Father loved the Son eternally. The Son loved the Father eternally. The Spirit loved both eternally. All three loved each other in perfect, unbroken, joyful communion.
This means: God was not lonely. God did not need anything. God was completely fulfilled.
So why create?
Because perfect love OVERFLOWS.
Because joy in isolation seeks expression.
Because glory unexperienced seeks witnesses.
God created not from NEED but from ABUNDANCE. Not from loneliness but from LOVE.
He wanted to SHARE the love that already existed within the Trinity.
-----
THE RADICAL DECISION: Creating Beings Who Could Reject Him
Here’s where it gets profound:
God determined to create beings with GENUINE FREE WILL.
Not robots. Not puppets. Not programmed responders.
Creatures who could genuinely CHOOSE to love Him—or reject Him.
Why risk rejection?
Because love that’s not chosen isn’t love—it’s programming.
Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.”
CHOOSE. God gives the choice. He commands the right choice, but He gives the choice.
Joshua 24:15 “If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve.”
God values genuine relationship more than forced obedience.
And genuine relationship requires the possibility of rejection.
God knew—with absolute certainty—that:
- Lucifer would rebel
- Adam would fall
- Angels would corrupt humanity
- Nimrod would build Babel
- Humanity would crucify His Son
And He created anyway.
Why?
Because He determined that the glory of redeeming rebels would outshine the tragedy of rebellion itself.
Because He knew that demonstrating grace, mercy, and sacrificial love would reveal dimensions of His character impossible to display otherwise.
Because He wanted a BRIDE for His Son—and brides are won, not manufactured.
-----
DESPITE OUR REBELLION: The Love That Wouldn’t Let Go
Every human being born after Adam inherits a nature bent toward rebellion.
Romans 5:12 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.”
We are born rebels.
Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.”
Ephesians 2:1-3 “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.”
We were:
- Dead in sin
- Following the world
- Following Satan
- Living in lust
- Children of WRATH by nature
This is the default state of every human being.
We didn’t just make mistakes. We were DEAD. We were HOSTILE to God.
Romans 8:7 “Because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so.”
HOSTILE. Not neutral. Not indifferent. HOSTILE.
Colossians 1:21 “And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds…”
We were ENEMIES.
So here’s the question: What do you do with enemies?
Human response: Destroy them. Punish them. Eliminate the threat.
God’s response?
Romans 5:8, 10 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us… For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”
WHILE we were sinners—Christ died.
WHILE we were enemies—we were reconciled.
Not after we repented. Not after we cleaned up. Not after we stopped rebelling.
WHILE we were actively sinning. WHILE we were hostile enemies.
This is incomprehensible love.
-----
THE ETERNAL LOVE OF GOD: Before You Existed, He Loved You
Here’s where we go even deeper:
God’s love for you didn’t BEGIN when you were born. It didn’t BEGIN when you believed. It didn’t BEGIN in time at all.
God loved you BEFORE you existed.
Ephesians 1:4-5 “Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will.”
BEFORE the foundation of the world:
- He CHOSE you
- He predestined you to adoption
- He did it IN LOVE
- According to His OWN kind intention
Before the first star ignited. Before the first atom formed. Before time began.
God looked through all of time and said: “That one. I choose that one. I will love that one. I will save that one.”
Jeremiah 31:3 “The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying, ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.’”
EVERLASTING love. No beginning. No end. Eternal.
2 Thessalonians 2:13 “But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.”
Chosen FROM THE BEGINNING.
Romans 8:29 “For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren.”
He FOREKNEW you. He saw you. He knew everything you would do—every sin, every failure, every rebellion—and He chose to love you anyway.
This means: Nothing you do surprises God. Nothing you do changes His love. Nothing you do makes Him love you more or less.
His love for you is ETERNAL—outside of time, unaffected by your performance.
-----
THE LIFE OF JESUS: Love Made Visible
God’s love wasn’t just a feeling or a concept. It became FLESH.
John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
The Word—Jesus—BECAME FLESH.
God didn’t just send a messenger. He CAME HIMSELF.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
He GAVE His only Son.
Think about what that means:
The Father had one Son—eternally begotten, infinitely loved, perfect in every way.
That Son shared the Father’s glory before creation (John 17:5).
That Son was the Father’s eternal joy, the perfect expression of His nature, the exact representation of His being (Hebrews 1:3).
And the Father GAVE Him—sent Him to a fallen world, to a hostile humanity, to suffering, rejection, torture, and death.
Why?
For YOU.
Romans 8:32 “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?”
If God gave His MOST PRECIOUS—will He withhold anything else? No.
Jesus’ Life: Perfect Love in Action
Every moment of Jesus’ 33 years was an act of love:
Philippians 2:6-8 “Who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
Jesus EMPTIED Himself:
- Laid aside divine privileges (not His deity)
- Became a servant
- Took on human limitations
- Experienced hunger, thirst, fatigue, pain
- Was tempted in every way (Hebrews 4:15)
- All while remaining perfectly sinless
He lived the life YOU were supposed to live:
- Perfect obedience to the Father
- Perfect love for God and neighbor
- Perfect fulfillment of the Law
- Perfect righteousness in thought, word, and deed
And He did this FOR YOU—to credit HIS righteousness to YOUR account.
2 Corinthians 5:21 “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
The Great Exchange:
- Your sin → placed on Him
- His righteousness → placed on you
Jesus’ Death: Love at Its Greatest
John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
Jesus laid down His life—but notice: we weren’t even His friends. We were His ENEMIES.
And He died anyway.
Isaiah 53:4-6 “Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.”
Every sin you’ve ever committed—every lie, every lustful thought, every hateful word, every rebellious act—was placed on Jesus.
And He willingly bore it.
Matthew 26:39 “And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, ‘My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.’”
He asked if there was another way. There wasn’t. So He drank the cup—the full cup of God’s wrath against sin.
On the Cross:
- He experienced the full weight of God’s wrath
- He was forsaken by the Father (Matthew 27:46)
- He endured physical torture beyond description
- He suffered spiritual agony we cannot fathom
- He tasted death for everyone (Hebrews 2:9)
And He did it VOLUNTARILY.
John 10:17-18 “For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again.”
No one took His life. HE GAVE IT.
This is love: Not that we loved God, but that while we were yet sinners, hostile enemies, dead in trespasses—HE DIED FOR US.
-----
THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH: The Love Gift Given Before the World
Now we come to an even deeper mystery:
The Holy Spirit—the Spirit of Truth—was given to you BEFORE the world began.
How can that be?
2 Timothy 1:9 “Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity.”
Grace was GRANTED to us in Christ Jesus FROM ALL ETERNITY.
Before you existed, grace was already deposited in Christ FOR YOU.
Titus 1:2 “In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago.”
Promised LONG AGES AGO—before there was anyone to promise it to.
To whom did God promise it? To Himself.
The Father promised the Son: “I will give You a people.”
The Son promised the Father: “I will redeem them.”
The Spirit promised both: “I will seal them and sanctify them.”
Before time began, the Trinity covenanted together to save you.
The Spirit’s Multi-Faceted Work of Love
John 14:16-17 “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”
The Spirit:
- Convicts the world of sin (John 16:8) - bringing you to awareness
- Regenerates the dead heart (Titus 3:5) - making you alive
- Seals you for eternity (Ephesians 1:13-14) - guaranteeing your inheritance
- Indwells you permanently (1 Corinthians 6:19) - making your body His temple
- Transforms you progressively (2 Corinthians 3:18) - conforming you to Christ
- Empowers you for service (Acts 1:8) - enabling ministry
- Teaches you all things (John 14:26) - illuminating truth
- Intercedes for you (Romans 8:26-27) - praying when you can’t
- Produces fruit in you (Galatians 5:22-23) - creating Christlike character
- Assures you of adoption (Romans 8:16) - confirming you’re God’s child
Every single aspect of the Spirit’s work is an act of LOVE.
He doesn’t leave you as you were. He transforms you into what you were meant to be.
-----
ALL BY GRACE: The Free Gift You Cannot Earn
This entire rescue operation—from eternity past to eternity future—is 100% GRACE.
Ephesians 2:4-9 “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Let’s break this down:
“God, being RICH in MERCY”—not barely sufficient, RICH
“Because of His GREAT LOVE”—not small, GREAT
“Even when we were DEAD”—not sick, not struggling, DEAD
“Made us ALIVE”—not helped us, MADE us alive (we couldn’t do it)
“By GRACE you have been saved”—not by works, by GRACE
“Through FAITH”—the means of receiving
“And that NOT of yourselves”—even faith is a gift
“It is the GIFT of God”—freely given
“NOT as a result of WORKS”—eliminates all boasting
“So that NO ONE may boast”—all glory to God alone
Romans 11:6 “But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.”
Grace and works are mutually exclusive categories.
If you earn it, it’s not grace.
If it’s grace, you didn’t earn it.
Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.”
NOT on the basis of deeds.
ACCORDING TO His mercy.
This is the radical truth: Your salvation is 100% God’s work from start to finish.

- The outcome is eternally secure
- All glory goes to God alone
-----
FOR THE GLORY OF GOD: The Ultimate Purpose
Why did God orchestrate this entire story? Why rebellion and rescue? Why suffering and salvation?
FOR HIS GLORY.
Romans 11:36 “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”
FROM Him- He’s the source
THROUGH Him- He’s the means
TO Him- He’s the goal
Everything exists for God’s glory.
But here’s the key: God’s glory and your joy are not competing interests—they’re the same thing.
Isaiah 43:7 “Everyone who is called by My name, and whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, even whom I have made.”
You were CREATED for His GLORY.
And when God gets glory, you get joy.
Psalm 16:11 “You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”
In His presence → fullness of JOY
At His right hand → pleasures FOREVER
God is not a cosmic narcissist demanding worship because He has low self-esteem.
God is the source of all joy, all satisfaction, all beauty, all goodness, all pleasure.
When He calls you to worship Him, He’s inviting you into fullness of joy.
When He demands His glory, He’s directing you toward your greatest satisfaction.
C.S. Lewis said it perfectly:“God is the only comfort, He is also the supreme terror: the thing we most need and the thing we most want to hide from. He is our only possible ally, and we have made ourselves His enemies. Some people talk as if meeting the gaze of absolute goodness would be fun. They need to think again. They are still only playing with religion.”
But the Gospel transforms that terror into joy—because Jesus bore God’s wrath FOR US, we can now approach with confidence.
-----
THE PRACTICAL OUTWORKING: Living Loved
So how do you live in light of this radical love?
1. REST in His Love
You don’t earn it. You don’t maintain it. You RECEIVE it.
1 John 4:19 “We love, because He first loved us.”
His love comes first. Your love is response.
Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”
REST. Stop striving. Stop performing. Stop trying to earn what’s already been given.
2. ABIDE in His Love
John 15:9-10 “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
Abiding isn’t earning—it’s remaining connected.
Like a branch to a vine, you stay attached. The vine does the work.
3. OVERFLOW with His Love
2 Corinthians 5:14 “For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died.”
His love CONTROLS (compels) you.
When you’re filled with His love, it overflows to others—naturally, joyfully.
4. SHARE His Love
1 John 4:11 “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
You love others because you’ve been loved.
Matthew 5:44 “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
Even enemies. Because that’s how God loved YOU—while you were His enemy.
5. PROCLAIM His Love
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.”
The Gospel is the story of God’s love. Tell it. Share it. Proclaim it.
Not out of guilt. Out of GRATITUDE and OVERFLOW.
-----
THE CLIMAX: When Love Completes Its Work
One day—perhaps soon—this love story reaches its climax.
Revelation 19:7-9 “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready. It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, ‘Write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.”’”
The MARRIAGE of the Lamb.
Jesus—the Son of God who loved you before creation, who died for you while you were His enemy, who rose to justify you, who intercedes for you, who holds you secure—is getting MARRIED.
To YOU. To the Church. To His Bride.
This entire story has been a love story—God pursuing His Bride.
Revelation 21:2-4 “And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.’”
God DWELLING with humanity—forever.
No more separation. No more sin. No more death. No more pain.
Face to face with perfect LOVE—eternally.
-----
CONCLUSION: The Deepest Truth
Despite every rebellion—Lucifer’s, Adam’s, the Watchers’, Nimrod’s, yours, mine—God’s love remained constant.
The eternal Love of God—unchanging, unearned, unstoppable.
The Life of Jesus—given freely, lived perfectly, sacrificed willingly.
The Spirit of Truth—promised eternally, given generously, working powerfully.
All by Grace—100% God’s work, 0% human contribution.
All for the Glory of God—His glory and your joy perfectly aligned.
This is the most radical love story ever told because:
- The Lover was infinitely glorious—yet pursued rebels
- The beloved were infinitely wretched—yet were chosen
- The cost was infinite—yet was paid freely
- The love was uncaused—nothing in us attracted it
- The love is unbreakable—nothing can separate us from it
- The love is eternal—it had no beginning and will have no end
Ephesians 3:17-19 “So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”
The love of Christ SURPASSES KNOWLEDGE.
You can spend eternity exploring it and never exhaust it.
You can dive deeper and deeper and never find the bottom.
You can reach wider and wider and never find the edges.
This is the love God has for you.
Not because you’re worthy.
Not because you earned it.
But because HE IS LOVE—and He chose to lavish that love on you.
-----
THE FINAL WORD: Doxology
Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
To Him be the glory—
- Who loved before creation
- Who pursued despite rebellion
- Who gave His Son
- Who sent His Spirit
- Who saves by grace alone
- Who keeps by His power
- Who will complete the work
Forever and ever and ever.
This is the deepest truth:
You are loved with an ETERNAL love.
You are saved by RADICAL grace.
You are kept by DIVINE power.
You are destined for ETERNAL glory.
Not because of anything in you.
But because of EVERYTHING in Him.
-----
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing… To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”— Revelation 5:12-13
AMEN and AMEN.
