THE REBELLION OF GENESIS 6: When fallen angels illegally crossed the boundary into humanity, corrupting the human bloodline in a desperate bid to block the Messiah—and forcing a global judgment: THE FLOOD.

THE REBELLION OF BABEL: When mankind defied God’s command and tried to build their own one-world system, resulting in the DIVINE DISINHERITANCE—where territorial demons (the 'gods' of the nations) were assigned to rule over a confused and scattered humanity.

Each rebellion brought increasing devastation:

- The First Rebellion - Eden - brought DEATH

- The Second Rebellion - Genesis 6 - brought the FLOOD

- The Third Rebellion - Babel - brought CONFUSION and all the chaos we see today

But here’s the glorious truth: Jesus knew this entire story before He created the first atom. And He is 100% responsible for completing what He started—your salvation.

Philippians 1:6 “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Let’s tell the complete story.

BEFORE THE BEGINNING: The Triune God’s Perfect Plan

Before anything existed—before angels, before stars, before time itself—God existed as perfect Trinity:

The Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit—eternally united in perfect love.

And in His infinite wisdom, God chose to create beings who could experience His love, reflect His glory, and reign with Him forever.

But God is omniscient. He knew what would happen:

- He knew Lucifer would rebel
- He knew Adam would fall
- He knew the angels would corrupt humanity
- He knew Nimrod would build Babel
- He knew humanity would crucify His Son

And yet He created anyway.

Why?

Because He had a plan—a plan to demonstrate His glory through redemption, to create a Bride for His Son, and to defeat evil forever while preserving genuine love and free will.

Jesus Knew You Before Creation

Ephesians 1:3-6 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.”

Before the foundation of the world:

- God chose you in Christ
- God predestined your adoption
- God planned your holiness
- God designed your redemption

2 Timothy 1:9 “Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity.”

From ALL ETERNITY—before time began—God purposed to save you through Christ.

Revelation 13:8 “The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

Jesus was the Lamb slain BEFORE creation.The Cross wasn’t Plan B. It was always the plan.

Why Create If He Knew We’d Fall?

Because God wanted GENUINE LOVE, not robotic obedience.

Love requires choice. Choice requires the possibility of rejection. Rejection leads to rebellion. Rebellion requires redemption.

The story of Scripture is God demonstrating:

- His holiness (by judging sin)
- His justice (by requiring payment)
- His love (by paying it Himself)
- His power (by conquering death)
- His grace (by choosing unworthy recipients)

Romans 9:22-23 “What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory.”

God endures evil temporarily to display His glory eternally.

THE FIRST REBELLION: EDEN - Death Enters

Lucifer: The Original Rebel

Before humanity’s creation, there was another rebellion.

Isaiah 14:12-15 “How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, you who have weakened the nations! But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit on the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, to the recesses of the pit.”

Five “I wills”—the heart of all rebellion: SELF-will against God’s will.

Lucifer (meaning “light-bearer” or “shining one”) was the most beautiful, powerful angel. But he wanted to BE God, not serve God.

  “You had the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God… You were the anointed cherub who covers, and I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God… You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until unrighteousness was found in you… Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor.”

Lucifer’s sin: PRIDE. He corrupted himself through his own beauty.

Revelation 12:4 “And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth.”

Lucifer led one-third of the angels in rebellion against God.

They were defeated and cast out of heaven.

But Satan (Lucifer’s new name, meaning “adversary”) wasn’t done. If he couldn’t rule heaven, he’d corrupt God’s new creation: humanity.

Adam and Eve: Humanity Joins the Rebellion

Genesis 2:16-17 “The LORD God commanded the man, saying, ‘From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.’”

One command. One boundary. Perfect provision with one prohibition.

Then the serpent—Satan—enters:

Genesis 3:1, 4-5 “Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, ‘Indeed, has God said, “You shall not eat from any tree of the garden”?’… The serpent said to the woman, ‘You surely will not die! For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’”

Satan’s strategy:

- Question God’s Word- “Has God said…?”

- Deny God’s consequences- “You will not die”

- Accuse God’s motives- “God is holding out on you”

- Promise godhood- “You will be like God”

This is the same lie today:

- “Did God really say homosexuality is sin?”

- “You won’t face consequences for abortion”

- “God doesn’t want you to be happy”

- “You determine your own truth”

Genesis 3:6 “When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.”

1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.”

Eve was tempted through:

- Lust of the flesh (“good for food”)
- Lust of the eyes (“delight to the eyes”)
- Pride of life (“make one wise”)

Adam, who was WITH her, said nothing. Then he ate.

Romans 5:12 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.”

The Consequences: Death Reigns

- Immediate spiritual death- separation from God

- Eventually physical death- bodies decay and die

- Eternal death awaits- separation from God forever

Genesis 3:16-19- Pain in childbirth, cursed ground, thorns and thistles, sweat and toil, return to dust.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death.”

The entire world was plunged into death, decay, disease, and destruction.

But God Had a Plan: The Protoevangelium

Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel.”

This is the first Gospel promise:

- The Seed of the Woman (Jesus, born of a virgin)

- Will crush the serpent’s head (defeat Satan)

- Though bruised Himself (the Cross)

God immediately promises salvation even as He pronounces judgment.

Genesis 3:21 “The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.”

Blood was shed to cover sin.An innocent animal died. This foreshadows the Cross—Jesus’ blood covering our sin.

The Spirit of Christ in Rebellion 1

Even in judgment, God showed mercy:

- Promised a Redeemer
- Provided covering
- Extended time for repentance
- Preserved the human race

God didn’t destroy humanity. He began the long path of redemption.

THE SECOND REBELLION: GENESIS 6 - The Flood Comes

As humanity multiplied, so did wickedness.

But Genesis 6 reveals something shocking—another cosmic rebellion:

Genesis 6:1-4 “Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. Then the LORD said, ‘My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.’ The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.”

The Watchers: Angels Rebel Again

“Sons of God”(bene Elohim) = divine beings, angels (Job 1:6, 2:1, 38:7, Psalm 29:1)

These angels:

- Left their proper dwelling (Jude 6)

- Took human women as wives

- Produced hybrid offspring - Nephilim (“fallen ones”)

- Corrupted human DNA

- Taught forbidden knowledge (weapons, sorcery, astrology)

Jude 6 “And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.”

2 Peter 2:4 “For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment.”

These fallen angels are NOW imprisoned in the Abyss (Tartarus), awaiting final judgment.

Why Did They Do This?

Satan’s strategy: Corrupt the human bloodline so the Messiah (Seed of the Woman) couldn’t come.

If all humanity becomes Nephilim hybrids, then:

- No pure human can be born
- No virgin birth is possible
- No Redeemer can come
- Satan wins

Genesis 6:5, 11-12 “Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually… Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.”

“All flesh had corrupted their way”- the Hebrew shachath implies genetic/moral ruin.

The Nephilim weren’t just violent—they were corrupting the very DNA of humanity and animals.

Noah: The Last Pure Bloodline

Genesis 6:8-9 “But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.”

“Blameless”- Hebrew tamim = “without blemish, genetically pure, complete”

Noah’s family was the LAST UNCORRUPTED HUMAN BLOODLINE on Earth.

That’s why God chose Noah. Not just moral righteousness—genetic purityso the Messiah could eventually come through his line.

The Flood: Judgment and Preservation

Genesis 6:13, 17 “Then God said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth… Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish.’”

The Flood wasn’t arbitrary cruelty. It was surgical removal of genetic corruption to preserve humanity.

God destroyed:

- The Nephilim giants
- The corrupted humans who joined them
- The corrupted animals

God preserved:

- Noah and his family (8 people)

- Pure-blooded animals (by pairs and sevens)

- The human race through which Messiah would come

1 Peter 3:20 “Who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.”

God’s patience waited 120 years while Noah built the ark and preached righteousness (2 Peter 2:5).

The Flood was both JUDGMENT on corruption and MERCY to preserve the pure line.

The Spirit of Christ in Rebellion 2

1 Peter 3:18-20 “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison, who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah.”

Christ Himself preached to the spirits (fallen angels) in prison—proclaiming His victory over them.

Even in the Flood judgment:

- God preserved the righteous (Noah)
- God waited patiently (120 years)
- God provided salvation (the ark)
- God maintained the line for the Messiah

The ark is a picture of Christ—the only way of salvation through judgment.

THE THIRD REBELLION: BABEL - Confusion and Babylon

After the Flood, God commanded:

Genesis 9:1 “And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.’”

But humanity rebelled AGAIN:

Genesis 11:1-4 “Now the whole earth used the same language and the same words. It came about as they journeyed east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. They said to one another, ‘Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly.’ And they used brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar. They said, ‘Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.’”

Nimrod: The First Post-Flood Tyrant

Genesis 10:8-10 “Now Cush became the father of Nimrod; he became a mighty one on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, ‘Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.’ The beginning of his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.”

Nimrod = “let us rebel”

He was:

- A gibbor (same word as Nephilim - “mighty one”)

- A hunter “before the LORD” (in defiance of God)

- The founder of Babel (Babylon)

- The builder of the Tower

- The first empire-builder

- The prototype Antichrist

The Tower: Humanity’s Third Rebellion

The Tower of Babel was:

- Ziggurat- Mesopotamian temple tower, gateway to the gods

- Organized religion- First false worship system

- One-world government- Nimrod ruling all humanity

- Cosmic treason- “Let US reach heaven, make OUR name”

- Refusal to scatter- Direct disobedience to God’s command

This was humanity saying:

- We don’t need God

- We’ll build our own way to heaven

- We’ll unite ourselves (apart from God)

- We’ll make OUR name great (not God’s)

Same rebellion as Eden: “We will be like God.”

God’s Response: Divine Disinheritance

Genesis 11:5-9 “The LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. The LORD said, ‘Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.’ So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; and they stopped building the city. Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of the whole earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

God confused their language and scattered them.

But there’s more—Deuteronomy 32 reveals the hidden theology:

Deuteronomy 32:8-9 “When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when He separated the sons of man, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. But the LORD’s portion is His people, Jacob His allotted inheritance.”

(Note: Many manuscripts read “sons of God” not “sons of Israel”—referring to divine beings)

At Babel, God:

- Divided humanity into ~70 nations (Genesis 10)

- Assigned each nation to a “son of God” (divine being) to rule over them

- Kept one nation for Himself—Israel (not yet existing, but foreordained)

This is THE DIVINE DISINHERITANCE.

God essentially said:“You want to reject Me? Fine. You can have other gods. I’m giving you over to spiritual powers. But I’m keeping one nation for Myself, through whom I’ll bring redemption back to ALL nations.”

Psalm 82:1, 6-7 “God takes His stand in His own congregation; He judges in the midst of the rulers… I said, ‘You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High. Nevertheless you will die like men and fall like any one of the princes.’”

These “gods” (the divine beings assigned to nations) FAILED. They became corrupt, demanding worship, oppressing people.

They became DEMONS.

Deuteronomy 32:17 “They sacrificed to demons who were not God, to gods whom they have not known, new gods who came lately, whom your fathers did not dread.”

1 Corinthians 10:20 “No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God.”

The “gods” of the nations are DEMONS—fallen angels ruling territories assigned at Babel.

The Results: All Modern Chaos

1. Every problem in the world TODAY traces back to Babel:

- Divided Languages and Cultures- Inability to unite (except under demonic systems)

2. National Demons Ruling- Why nations oppress, make war, promote evil:

- Daniel 10:13, 20- “Prince of Persia,” “Prince of Greece” are demonic rulers

- Each nation has a territorial demon assigned

3. False Religions- Every false religion started at Babel and spread with the scattered nations:

- Babylonian mystery religion → Egypt → Greece → Rome → Catholicism

- Astrology, divination, occultism—all from Babel

4. One-World Government Attempts- Satan keeps trying to reunite what God separated:

- Nimrod’s Babylon
- Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon
- Medo-Persia
- Greece (Alexander’s dream)
- Rome
- Holy Roman Empire
- British Empire
- Nazi Germany
- United Nations
- European Union
- Coming Antichrist system

5. Confusion in Everything:

- Gender confusion (transgender ideology)

- Moral confusion (relative truth)

- Identity confusion (who am I?)

- Purpose confusion (why exist?)

Babel = Babylon = Confusion

This is why the world is so messed up.We live under the Babel curse—scattered, confused, ruled by demons, constantly trying to rebuild the Tower.

The Spirit of Christ in Rebellion 3

Even at Babel, God was working redemption:

Acts 2:1-11- At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit REVERSED Babel:

- Confused languages at Babel → Unified understanding at Pentecost

- Scattered nations at Babel → Gathered nations at Pentecost

- Divine beings assigned at Babel → Holy Spirit poured out at Pentecost

- God divorced the nations at Babel → God reclaims them through the Gospel

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) is literally Jesus taking back the nations from the failed divine rulers.

Ephesians 4:8-10 “When He ascended on high, He led captive a host of captives, and He gave gifts to men.”

Jesus conquered the territorial demons and is reclaiming the nations, one soul at a time.
