A Prayer of Repentance and Transformation
Rivers of Life Flowing from the Tree of Life
A Prayer for the Great Basin Region and All Who Cry Out for Jesus
“Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” — Luke 23:42 (The Thief on the Cross)
Before You Pray
This prayer is for:
- Those who know they are broken and need a Savior
- The five wise virgins preparing for the Bridegroom
- The thief on the cross crying out for mercy in the final hour
- Every man, woman, and child who hungers for the Tree of Life
Pray this from your heart. Mean every word. Jesus is listening.
-----
The Prayer
Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. (Revelation 4:8)
You alone are GOOD. You alone are worthy. You alone are the standard of all righteousness and holiness.
“No one is good except God alone.” (Mark 10:18)
-----
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Father, I confess that I have been building MY kingdom, not YOURS.
I have sought my own will, my own way, my own glory. I have been enslaved to SELF—self-ambition, self-promotion, self-protection, self-provision, self-preservation, and self-governance.
“For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing.” (Romans 7:18)
I repent of every form of SELF. I repent of trusting in human governance and earthly systems instead of Your Kingdom. I repent of RELIGION that worships SELF instead of surrendering to CHRIST.
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins.” (Revelation 18:4)
I come out of Babylon. I come out of SELF. I come out of every system built apart from You.
Let YOUR Kingdom come. Let YOUR will be done—not mine.
-----
Give us this day our daily bread.
Father, I cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of Your mouth. (Matthew 4:4)
Feed me from the Tree of Life—Jesus, the Bread of Life, the Word made flesh.
“I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger.” (John 6:35)
Let rivers of living water flow from within me—rivers of Your Spirit, Your truth, Your grace.
“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38)
I receive Your daily bread—Your grace, new every morning.
“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)
-----
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Father, I confess my sin. I confess my absolute depravity. I confess my disgrace, my disorder, my dishonor.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
I have been a slave to sin. I have eaten from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. I have tried to be my own god, determining for myself what is good and evil.
I have failed. I am wretched. I am condemned.
“O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” (Romans 7:24)
But I thank You, Father, through Jesus Christ my Lord.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)
Forgive me. Wash me. Cleanse me.
“Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” (Psalm 51:7)
And just as You have forgiven me, I forgive everyone who has wronged me—everyone, for everything, forever.
I release all bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness. I choose Your mercy over my judgment.
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” (Ephesians 4:32)
-----
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Father, I cannot resist temptation in my own strength. My flesh is weak.
“The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)
Deliver me from evil. Deliver me from SELF. Deliver me from the power of sin and death.
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2)
I am baptized into Christ’s death and resurrection. I die to SELF. I am crucified with Christ.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.” (Galatians 2:20)
I deny myself. I pick up my cross daily. I follow Jesus.
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)
Lead me in Your paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Keep me from falling.
“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.” (Jude 1:24)
-----
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
The Confession of Faith
Father, I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, the Word made flesh, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
I believe that He died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
I believe that He alone is the Tree of Life, the only source of righteousness, holiness, and eternal life.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
-----
The Surrender
I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto You, which is my reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)
Take my life. Take my will. Take my plans. Take my dreams. Take everything.
I am not my own. I am bought with a price—the precious blood of Christ.
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:20)
Transform me by the renewing of my mind, that I may prove what is Your good, and acceptable, and perfect will.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
-----
Receiving His Faith and His Faithfulness
Father, I have no faith of my own. I have no faithfulness of my own. I have no righteousness of my own.
But You have given me the measure of faith as a gift.
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (Romans 12:3)
I receive Your faith. I trust Your faithfulness.
“If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13)
You are the author and finisher of my faith.
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)
You began a good work in me, and You will complete it.
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)
-----
Transformation: From SELF to Christ
Father, I cannot transform myself. I cannot renew my own mind. I cannot produce Your righteousness.
But You—the God of all grace—will make me perfect, establish me, strengthen me, and settle me.
“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” (1 Peter 5:10)
Transform me into the image of Christ. Conform me to His likeness.
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son.” (Romans 8:29)
Reveal all truth to me by Your Spirit.
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.” (John 16:13)
Make me the righteousness of God in Christ.
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
-----
Set Me Free from Disgrace, Disorder, and Dishonor
Father, I have lived in disgrace—fallen from grace, separated from You, naked and ashamed.
But You have clothed me in the wedding garment of Your righteousness.
“And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” (Revelation 19:8)
I have lived in disorder—my life a chaos of self-will and rebellion.
But You are establishing Your divine order, Your peace, Your righteousness in me.
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)
I have lived in dishonor—serving SELF, building my own kingdom, seeking my own glory.
But You are making me a vessel of honor, fit for the Master’s use.
“If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” (2 Timothy 2:21)
Set me free. Deliver me. Make me new.
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
-----
Repenting from All Forms of SELF
Father, I specifically repent of:
SELF-AMBITION - seeking my own glory instead of Yours
SELF-PROMOTION - exalting myself instead of humbling myself
SELF-PROTECTION - trusting in my own strength instead of Your grace
SELF-PROVISION - relying on my own resources instead of Your supply
SELF-PRESERVATION - clinging to this life instead of dying to self
SELF-GOVERNANCE - ruling my own life instead of submitting to Your Lordship
SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS - trusting in my own goodness instead of Christ’s righteousness
I renounce them all. I put off the old man with all his deeds.
“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts.” (Ephesians 4:22)
I put on the new man, which is created in righteousness and true holiness.
“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesians 4:24)
-----
Coming to the Throne of Grace
Father, I come boldly to Your throne of grace.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)
I need mercy. I need grace. I need help.
I cannot make it on my own. I am weak. I am helpless. I am utterly dependent on You.
But You are faithful. You are good. You are able to save to the uttermost.
“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25)
-----
Putting On Christ
Father, I put off the perishable, corruptible, dying flesh.
“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” (1 Corinthians 15:53)
I put on Christ—His righteousness, His holiness, His life.
“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” (Romans 13:14)
I am dead to sin and alive to God through Jesus Christ.
“Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:11)
I am crucified with Christ. Christ lives in me. I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
-----
Entering the Wedding Banquet
Father, I am one of the five wise virgins. I have oil in my lamp—Your Holy Spirit, Your faith, Your grace dwelling in me.
“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.” (Matthew 25:1)
I am watching. I am ready. I am waiting for the Bridegroom.
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” (Matthew 25:13)
Wash my feet, Lord Jesus. Make me clean. Make me ready.
“If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.” (John 13:8)
I sit still. I receive. I surrender. Wash me, Lord.
Clothe me in the wedding garment of Your righteousness. Present me spotless, without wrinkle, holy and blameless before You.
“That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:27)
-----
Like the Thief on the Cross and Like a Little Child
Father, I am like the thief on the cross—a sinner with no time left, no good works to offer, no righteousness of my own.
“And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” (Luke 23:42)
Lord, remember ME when You come into Your kingdom.
I have nothing to give You except my sin, my shame, my desperate need.
But You—in Your absolute goodness—receive even me.
“And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43)
TODAY. Not tomorrow. Not after I clean up my life. TODAY.
Receive me, Lord. Save me. Take me home with You.
-----
And Father, I come to You as a little child—helpless, dependent, trusting completely in You.
“Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3)
Convert me. Make me like a little child. Strip away all my self-sufficiency, all my pride, all my self-reliance.
“Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:4)
I humble myself as a little child—utterly dependent on my Father, completely trusting in His goodness, totally reliant on His provision and protection.
A child has no achievements. No credentials. No righteousness. No strength.
A child simply receives from the parent. Simply trusts. Simply believes.
“Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14)
I come to You as an infant comes to a parent—with full faith, total dependence, absolute trust.
I cannot feed myself. You must feed me.
I cannot clothe myself. You must clothe me.
I cannot protect myself. You must protect me.
I cannot save myself. You must save me.
“Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” (Mark 10:15)
I receive Your Kingdom as a little child—not earning it, not achieving it, not deserving it.
Simply receiving it with open hands and a trusting heart.
Make me like a little child, Father. This is the only way I can enter Your Kingdom. This is the only way I can see the Kingdom of God.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
Birth me again. Make me an infant in Your arms. Let me start over—completely dependent on You, completely trusting in You, completely receiving from You.
I have no strength. I have no wisdom. I have no goodness.
But You are my Father. And I am Your child.
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.” (1 John 3:1)
-----
Colossians 1-3: The Fullness of Christ
Father, I thank You that in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:9-10)
I am COMPLETE in Him. Not lacking. Not deficient. COMPLETE.
You have delivered me from the power of darkness and translated me into the kingdom of Your dear Son.
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” (Colossians 1:13)
I am dead with Christ. I am buried with Him in baptism. I am risen with Him through faith.
“Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.” (Colossians 2:12)
I am alive with Christ. My life is hid with Christ in God.
“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3)
I set my affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2)
I put off anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication, lies—the old man with his deeds.
“But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds.” (Colossians 3:8-9)
I put on the new man, renewed in knowledge after the image of Him who created me.
“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.” (Colossians 3:10)
I put on—as the elect of God, holy and beloved—mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering, forgiveness, and above all, love.
“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” (Colossians 3:12-14)

The Declaration
Father, I declare:
I am Yours. Forever.
I am the Bride of Christ, the Gentile Bride, bought with His blood, washed by His word, clothed in His righteousness.
I am no longer my own. I am Yours.
I rest in You. I abide in You. I am hidden in You.
My life is not in the earth, not in systems, not in SELF.
My life is IN HIM. Literally. Completely. Forever.
I trust Your faith. I trust Your faithfulness. I trust Your absolute GOODNESS.
You are the author and finisher of my faith. You began this work, and You will complete it.
Nothing can separate me from Your love—not tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, sword, death, life, angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth, or any other creature.
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me.
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
-----
The Cry of the Bride
Come, Lord Jesus! Come quickly!
“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)
The Spirit and the Bride say, Come!
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Revelation 22:17)
I am watching. I am ready. I am waiting.
My lamp is full of oil. My feet are washed. My wedding garment is on.
I am ready for the Wedding Banquet.
“Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.” (Revelation 19:9)
-----
The Benediction
Now unto Him that is able to keep me from falling, and to present me faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God my Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. (Jude 1:24-25)
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with me. Amen. (Revelation 22:21)
-----
After You Pray
If you prayed this prayer from your heart, you are saved. You are His. You are the Bride.
Not because of what you did. Because of what HE did.
Not because of your faithfulness. Because of HIS faithfulness.
Not because you were good. Because HE is GOOD—absolutely, perfectly, eternally GOOD.
Now REST in Him. Trust in Him. Wait for Him.
He is coming soon.
Maranatha!
