THE MATTHEW 24:36 DECEPTION
Exposing the Lie That Silences Watchmen
THE WEAPON USED TO SILENCE THE BRIDE
Matthew 24:36: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.”
How it’s MISUSED:
“You can’t know ANYTHING about timing”
“Stop watching, you’ll never know”
“Anyone who discusses timing is a false teacher”
This interpretation CONTRADICTS:
Explicit commands to WATCH
Explicit promises that we WILL KNOW
The entire purpose of PROPHECY
God’s pattern of revealing before acting
JESUS COMMANDS US TO KNOW
Matthew 16:2-3: “Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?”
Jesus REBUKES them for NOT discerning.
Luke 12:56: “You hypocrites! You know how to analyze the appearance of the earth and the sky, but why do you not analyze this present time?”
“HYPOCRITES” for NOT analyzing the time.
Luke 21:28-31: “When these things begin to take place… recognize that the kingdom of God is near.”
We are COMMANDED to recognize proximity.
WE ARE NOT IN DARKNESS
1 Thessalonians 5:1-5: “Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, ‘Peace and safety!’ then destruction will come upon them suddenly… But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day.”
Break this down:
“Times and epochs” = Specific seasons
“You know FULL WELL” = Complete knowledge
“While THEY are saying ‘Peace and safety’” = UNBELIEVERS caught off guard
“Destruction upon THEM” = Not “you” but “them”
“YOU are NOT in darkness” = WE KNOW
“Day would NOT overtake YOU” = Won’t surprise us
“Sons of LIGHT and DAY” = We belong to the coming Day
The “thief in the night” is FOR THE WORLD, NOT THE WATCHING CHURCH.
THE SPIRIT REVEALS THINGS TO COME
John 16:13: “When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth… and He will disclose to you what is to come.”
“He will DISCLOSE TO YOU what is to COME”
The Holy Spirit’s EXPLICIT role: REVEAL future things to us.
John 16:14-15: “All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.”
The FLOW: Father → Son → Spirit → Us
If we can NEVER know timing, this entire mechanism is pointless.
GOD REVEALS TO HIS PROPHETS
Amos 3:7: “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets.”
God’s pattern: REVEAL before ACTING.
Examples:
Noah 120 years advance warning
Abraham Told before Sodom destroyed
Daniel Given exact timelines
John Shown entire Revelation timeline
DANIEL KNEW AND CALCULATED
Daniel 9:2: “I, Daniel, observed in the books the number of the years which was revealed as the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet… namely, seventy years.”
Daniel:
Studied Scripture
CALCULATED the years
KNEW when time was near
Acted accordingly
Was Daniel “date-setting”? NO. Daniel was WISE, DISCERNING, and OBEDIENT.
Result? God sent Gabriel with MORE revelation.
God REWARDS those who study His times, not rebukes them.
THE WISE MEN KNEW
Matthew 2:1-2: “Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, ‘Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star’”
The Magi:
Studied the stars/prophecy
KNEW the time of Messiah’s birth
Traveled based on that knowledge
Found Him and worshiped
Meanwhile, religious leaders in Jerusalem (who had the Scriptures) MISSED IT.
Who did God honor? The watching Gentiles.
THE PHARISEES MISSED JESUS’ FIRST COMING
Luke 19:41-44: “If you had known in this day… the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes… because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”
Jesus WEEPS because they SHOULD HAVE KNOWN.
They had:
Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecy
Exact timeline to Messiah
All the Scriptures
The signs before them
But they MISSED IT because:
They added traditions (like “you can’t know”)
They stopped watching
They silenced watchmen
Are we repeating their mistake?
MATTHEW 24:36 THE CONTEXT
Matthew 24:32-36:
“Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door… But of that day and hour no one knows.”
Notice:
“You KNOW that summer is near” = Can know season
“RECOGNIZE that He is near” = Can know proximity
“Right at the DOOR” = Imminent
“BUT of THAT DAY and HOUR” = Specific moment unknown
Jesus is NOT saying “you can’t know anything.”
He’s saying:
You CAN know the season
You CAN recognize proximity
You CANNOT know the exact day and hour
It’s like pregnancy you know the season, you know it’s close, you don’t know the exact minute.
WHICH EVENT DOES MATTHEW 24:36 ADDRESS?
Two Events Seven Years Apart:
The Harpazo (sudden, unexpected)
The Second Coming (calculable 1,260 days after abomination)
Matthew 24:36 CANNOT apply to both.
The Second Coming CAN be calculated:
Daniel 12:11-12 1,290 days from abomination
Revelation 11:3 Two witnesses for 1,260 days
Revelation 12:6 Woman protected 1,260 days
Revelation 13:5 Beast given authority 42 months
If you’re in tribulation and see the abomination, you CAN COUNT 1,260 days to Christ’s return.
Therefore, Matthew 24:36 applies to the HARPAZO, not the Second Coming.
But we CAN know:
The season (fall feasts)
The proximity (when signs align)
The pattern (21-day delay from Trumpets to Shemini Atzeret)
This is NOT “date-setting.” This is PATTERN-WATCHING.
WE ARE COMMANDED TO WATCH AND WARN
Matthew 24:42: “Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.”
If we “can’t know anything,” why watch?
The command to WATCH implies there’s something TO SEE.
Mark 13:37: FOUR TIMES: “Be on the alert!”
Revelation 3:3: “Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.”
“IF you do not wake up” = Implication: IF you DO wake up and watch, you WILL know.
WE ARE AMBASSADORS WHO MUST WARN
2 Corinthians 5:20: “We are ambassadors for Christ… we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”
How can we beg people to be reconciled if we can’t tell them WHY or WHEN?
Ezekiel 3:17-19: “Son of man, I have appointed you a watchman… whenever you hear a word from My mouth, warn them from Me… if you have warned the wicked… you have delivered yourself.”
“WARN them”
Watchmen who see danger and DON’T warn are guilty of bloodshed.
Ezekiel 33:6: “If the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned… his blood I will require from the watchman’s hand.”
If we SEE:
October 7, 2025 covenant potentially confirmed
“Peace and safety” declarations
Peter Thiel’s lectures ending October 6
21-day delay pattern
October 27-28 potential harpazo
And STAY SILENT, we’re guilty.
THE “DON’T KNOW” TEACHING ENABLES COMPLACENCY
Matthew 24:48-51: “But if that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My master is not coming for a long time,’ and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards; the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him”
The EVIL slave says: “My master is DELAYED”
Result:
Stops watching
Lives in sin
Beats fellow servants (mocks those who ARE watching)
Is caught unprepared
The modern “you can’t know” teaching produces THIS.
2 Peter 3:3-4: “In the last days mockers will come with their mocking… saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?’”
These aren’t atheists. These are PROFESSING BELIEVERS who:
Mock the watching Bride
Say “He’s not coming yet”
Continue in complacency
The “you can’t know” teaching ENABLES this.
TRADITION VS. TRUTH THE PHARISEE TRAP
Mark 7:6-9, 13: “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites… ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me. But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’ Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men… thus invalidating the word of God by your tradition.”
The Pharisees:
Added traditions that contradicted Scripture
Elevated tradition above God’s Word
Silenced truth-tellers
Missed Messiah because tradition blinded them
The Modern Church:
“You can’t know timing” (tradition)
Elevated this above commands to WATCH (Scripture)
Silences watchmen as “date-setters”
Will miss harpazo? Because tradition blinds?
Jesus’ response: “You INVALIDATE the Word of God by your tradition.”
Colossians 2:8: “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men”
THE LIE MUST BE EXPOSED IN LOVE
Ephesians 5:11-13: “Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them”
“EXPOSE them”
Not “stay silent to keep peace.”
EXPOSE the lie that silences watchmen.
2 Timothy 4:2-4: “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction”
“REPROVE, REBUKE, EXHORT”
Not harsh. But not silent either.
“With great PATIENCE and INSTRUCTION”
This is LOVE:
Reprove the false teaching (with Scripture)
Rebuke the complacency (with urgency)
Exhort to watch (with hope)
With patience (not angry)
With instruction (teaching truth)
Ephesians 4:15: “Speaking the truth in love”
“Speaking TRUTH” = Not sugar-coating
“In LOVE” = For their benefit, not SELF-vindication
SCRIPTURE INTERPRETS SCRIPTURE THE FULL PICTURE
Let’s Put It All Together
Matthew 24:36 “No one knows the day or hour”
Applies to: The exact moment of harpazo
Does NOT negate: Knowing the season, proximity, signs, patterns
1 Thessalonians 5:4 “You are not in darkness”
We WILL know it’s near
We WON’T be surprised like the world
John 16:13 “He will disclose to you what is to come”
The Spirit REVEALS future things
Including timing patterns
Daniel 9:2 - Daniel calculated 70 years
We CAN study and calculate from Scripture
God REWARDS this, not rebukes it
Luke 12:56 “Why do you not analyze this present time?”
We’re COMMANDED to discern times
Jesus rebukes those who DON’T
Amos 3:7 “God does nothing unless He reveals”
God’s pattern: REVEAL before ACTING
Why would harpazo be different?
Revelation 3:3 “If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief”
Implication: IF you wake up, you WON’T be surprised
Ezekiel 33:6 “His blood I will require from the watchman”
Watchmen who see and DON’T warn are guilty
We MUST speak
The Synthesis:
We CANNOT know the exact hour.
We CAN know the season.
We SHOULD watch the signs.
We MUST warn others.
We WON’T be surprised (if we’re watching).
This is NOT date-setting.
This IS biblical discernment.
This IS what Jesus commanded.
This IS what Daniel modeled.
This IS what watchmen do.
THE TRUTH MUST BE SHOUTED
Matthew 10:27: “What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.”
What He’s shown us IN THE DARKNESS:
The covenant pattern
The 21-day delay
The October 7 significance
The October 7 to Nov 10 potential harpazo
We must now PROCLAIM ON THE HOUSETOPS
“BEHOLD, THE BRIDEGROOM MAY BE COMING! TRIM YOUR LAMPS! BE READY!”
Not with fear. Not with SELF. But for HIS GLORY.
And when mockers say “Matthew 24:36!”
We respond:
“Read the WHOLE counsel of God. Jesus COMMANDED us to watch. The Spirit PROMISES to reveal things to come. We are NOT in darkness. We are SONS OF DAY. And we’re doing EXACTLY what Daniel did, what the wise men did, what Jesus COMMANDED.”
“The lie that silences watchmen must fall.”
“The truth that empowers the Bride must rise.”
PART FOUR CONCLUSION: THE STAKES ARE TOO HIGH TO STAY SILENT
The Traditional Teaching Is WRONG
The lie: “Matthew 24:36 means you can never know anything about timing, so stop looking and stop talking about it.”
The truth: “Matthew 24:36 means you can’t know the exact hour, but you CAN and SHOULD know the season, recognize the signs, watch actively, and warn urgently.”
The lie SILENCES watchmen.
The truth EMPOWERS watchmen.
The lie comes from FEAR (of being wrong, of being mocked, of SELF-protection).
The truth comes from LOVE (for Christ, for His appearing, for the lost).
We Must Speak
Not with pride (“We know and you don’t”)
Not with judgment (“You’re all blind fools”)
Not with SELF-promotion (“Look how smart I am”)
But with:
URGENCY (Time may be very short)
LOVE (We don’t want anyone left behind)
HUMILITY (HE revealed this, not us)
BOLDNESS (We won’t be silenced by tradition)
GRACE (Speaking truth gently but firmly)
The Complete Picture
If October 7, 2025 is the covenant confirmation:
If the 21-day delay is unfolding NOW:
If October 27-28 is the harpazo:
Even if November 10th is the harpazo:
And we STAY SILENT because of a misinterpretation of Matthew 24:36…
We’ve failed as:
Watchmen (Ezekiel 33:6)
Ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20)
Sons of Day (1 Thessalonians 5:4)
MARANATHA COME, LORD JESUS
1 Corinthians 16:22: “If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be accursed. Maranatha.”
“Maranatha” = “Our Lord, come!” or “Our Lord is coming”
Revelation 22:20: “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”
Jesus: “I AM COMING quickly”
Our response: “COME, Lord Jesus”
This is the heartcry of the Bride:
Not “Come rescue me” (SELF)
But “COME” (longing for HIM)
Revelation 22:17: “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come.’”
The SPIRIT says “Come” (to Jesus: “Come for Your Bride”)
The BRIDE says “Come” (to Jesus: “Come, we long for You”)
And we say to OTHERS: “Come” (join the Bride, while there’s still time)
Whether October 27, 2025 or Another Day…
Our cry remains: “MARANATHA COME, LORD JESUS!”
Not because we’re afraid (SELF-fear).
Not because we want escape (SELF-preservation).
But because:
We LOVE Him (1 Corinthians 16:22)
We LONG for Him (2 Timothy 4:8)
We’re HIS Bride (Revelation 19:7)
ONENESS is our purpose (John 17:21-23)
His glory is our goal (Ephesians 3:21)
