The Three Calendars: God’s Time vs. Man’s Time

Who Is Lord of Time? JESUS, HE IS ETERNAL AND BEYOND TIME...

Colossians 1:16 “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible… all things have been created through Him and for Him”

Jesus created time itself.

He spoke the sun, moon, and stars into existence for the explicit purpose of marking time:

Genesis 1:14 “Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years’”

Key phrase: “for signs and for seasons”

Signs (Hebrew: othoth) signals, markers, prophetic indicators

Seasons (Hebrew: moed or mo’adim) appointed times, festivals, divine appointments

The luminaries were created as God’s timekeeping system.

Yet humanity, in rebellion, has repeatedly altered, corrupted, and replaced God’s calendar with man-made systems.

Three main calendar systems have governed Jewish timekeeping:

The Original Pictographic Lunar Calendar God’s design, given at Creation and reinforced through Moses

The Julian Calendar Roman imperial corruption, adopted during exile and Hellenistic influence

The Gregorian Calendar Papal reformation, further removing connection to lunar cycles and biblical feasts

The critical question: If Jesus gave specific prophetic timing using HIS calendar (the original), would we even recognize it if we’re using corrupted calendars?

What if September 23, 2025 on the Gregorian calendar is NOT September 23 on God’s calendar?

The Original Source: Enoch’s Calendar

Enoch: The First Calendar-Keeper

Before we examine the three Jewish calendars, we must go back even further—to the very beginning.

Genesis 5:21-24 “Enoch lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah. Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah… Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him”

Jude 14 “It was also about these that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied”

Hebrews 11:5 “By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God”

Enoch was the FIRST to receive and record God’s calendar system.

The Book of Enoch and the 364-Day Calendar

1 Enoch 72:32 “And on that day the night becomes shorter, and amounts to nine parts, and the day amounts to nine parts, and the night becomes equal with the day. And the year amounts to exactly three hundred and sixty-four days”

1 Enoch 75:1-2 “And the leaders of the heads of the thousands, which are appointed over the whole creation and over all the stars, have also to do with the four intercalary days, being inseparable from their office, according to the reckoning of the year”

The Book of Jubilees 6:30-31 “Command thou the children of Israel that they observe the years according to this reckoning—three hundred and sixty-four days, and (these) will constitute a complete year… But if they do transgress and do not observe them according to His commandment, then will be corrupted all their fixed dates, and the years will waver”

Key Characteristics of Enoch’s Calendar

1. Exactly 364 days per year

12 months
Each quarter = 91 days (13 weeks exactly)
4 quarters × 91 days = 364 days
Perfectly divisible by 7 (52 weeks)

2. Four special “Tekufah” days

Spring Equinox (Tekufah Nisan) 1st day of 1st month
Summer Solstice (Tekufah Tammuz) 1st day of 4th month
Fall Equinox (Tekufah Tishri) 1st day of 7th month
Winter Solstice (Tekufah Tevet) 1st day of 10th month

3. Month structure

Two months of 30 days
One month of 31 days (ending with the tekufah day)
Pattern repeats four times per year

4. Week cycle never broken

Every year begins on Wednesday (4th day of Creation week)

Every feast day falls on the same day of the week, every year

Sabbath always on the same day

5. Solar-based, not lunar

Determined by sun, not moon phases
Angel Uriel revealed it to Enoch (1 Enoch 72-82)
Called the “Astronomical Book” of Enoch

Why 364 Days?

Genesis 1:14-16 "On the fourth day of Creation week (Wednesday), God created the sun, moon, and stars “for signs and for seasons and for days and years”

The 364-day year:

Always begins on Wednesday (Day 4)
Honors the day God created the timekeepers
Maintains perfect weekly Sabbath cycle
Never drifts from appointed feast days

1 Enoch 82:4-6 “Blessed are all the righteous, blessed are all those who walk in the way of righteousness and sin not as the sinners, in the reckoning of all their days in which the sun traverses the heaven… On account of the sinners the years shall be shortened… And many chiefs of the stars shall transgress the order (prescribed)”

The calendar was given to keep humanity in sync with God’s appointed times.

The Essenes Kept Enoch’s Calendar

The Dead Sea Scrolls prove the Essenes maintained Enoch’s 364-day calendar:

Fragments of the Book of Enoch found at Qumran

Book of Jubilees (also at Qumran) uses same 364-day system

Multiple calendrical texts describing the 364-day year

The Qumran community separated from Jerusalem Temple precisely over calendar disputes

The Essenes believed:

This was the original calendar from Adam through Enoch

The Temple had corrupted it by adopting lunar elements

Observing God’s true calendar was essential for holiness

The wrong calendar meant celebrating feasts on wrong days = sin

Did Jesus Quote Enoch?

The New Testament references to Enoch:

Jude 14-15 “It was also about these that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, ‘Behold, the Lord is coming with ten thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment on all, and to convict everyone of all the deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way’”

This is a direct quote from 1 Enoch 1:9.

The significance:

Jude, writing under Holy Spirit inspiration, quotes Enoch authoritatively

The Book of Enoch was found in the Dead Sea Scrolls, proving it existed before the New Testament

Early Church Fathers (Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, Athenagoras) considered it Scripture

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church still includes it in their canon today

Other possible New Testament connections to Enoch:

Matthew 22:29-30 (angels don’t marry echoes Enoch’s teaching on fallen angels)

2 Peter 2:4 (angels in chains of darkness 1 Enoch 10:4-6)

Revelation’s imagery (throne room, Son of Man, final judgment parallels 1 Enoch)

While the Book of Enoch is not canonical Scripture for most Christians, Jude’s authoritative quote proves that at least some of Enoch’s prophecies were divinely inspired and true.

What Calendar Did Jesus Use?

If Jesus quoted Enoch (through Jude), and Enoch maintained the 364-day calendar, what does that tell us?

During His earthly ministry, Jesus observed the feasts according to the calendar in use at the Temple. However, there are hints He may have observed the Essene calendar for certain events:

The Last Supper timing debate:

Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke): Last Supper was Passover meal

John’s Gospel: Jesus crucified when Passover lambs were being slain

Possible explanation: Jesus celebrated Passover according to the Essene (Enoch) calendar, which fell earlier than the Temple’s official date. This would reconcile the Gospel accounts.

If Jesus honored Enoch’s calendar:

It was the original God-given system
Uncorrupted by Babylonian/Greek/Roman influence
Based on Creation week (Day 4 beginning)
Maintained proper Sabbath cycles
Ensured feasts on correct days

The Prophetic Significance

If Enoch’s 364-day calendar is God’s true calendar:

Then all prophetic calculations should use it, not:

The 365-day Julian calendar
The 365.2425-day Gregorian calendar
The calculated 354/384-day modern Hebrew calendar

This means:

Daniel’s 70 weeks calculated on 364-day years
The 1,260 days of Tribulation based on 364-day years
The 2,300 days until sanctuary cleansed based on 364-day years
Jubilee cycles (49 years) of 364 days each

If prophets today receive dates from God, He’s likely using Enoch’s calendar, not ours.

Calendar One: The Original Pictographic Lunar Calendar (God’s Calendar)

The Design From Creation

Genesis 1:14-18 establishes the divine calendar system:

Sun governs the day
Moon governs the night and months
Stars secondary markers for seasons
Purpose signs, seasons (mo’adim), days, years

This is a LUNAR calendar based on actual observation of the moon.

Key Characteristics

1. Month begins with new moon sighting

Month = one lunar cycle (approximately 29.5 days)
New moon (Rosh Chodesh) marks beginning of month
Actual visual observation required, not calculation

2. Year begins in spring (Aviv/Nisan)

Exodus 12:2 “This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you”

Spring equinox determines start of year

Barley harvest (Aviv) must be ripe for year to begin

3. Intercalation (leap month) determined by agricultural signs

Extra month added when needed to keep spring feasts in spring

Based on barley ripeness, not mathematical calculation

Ensures Passover always falls in spring harvest

4. Day begins at sunset

Genesis 1:5 “And there was evening and there was morning, one day”

Evening first, then morning

Roughly 6 PM to 6 PM cycle

The Pictographic Aspect

The earliest Hebrew was pictographic each letter was a picture with meaning:

Aleph - Ox head (strength, leadership, God)
Bet - House/tent (family, dwelling)
Gimel - Camel (lift up, pride)
Dalet - Door (pathway, entrance)

Even the names of months carried meaning:

Aviv (later Nisan) “spring, green ears” month of new life
Ziv (later Iyyar) “radiance, blossom” month of beauty
Ethanim (later Tishri) “permanent, enduring” month of feasts

The calendar itself was prophetic imagery embedded in creation.

The Biblical Feasts According to God’s Calendar

Leviticus 23 God’s appointed times (mo’adim)

Spring Feasts:

1. Passover (Pesach) 14th of Nisan

2. Unleavened Bread (Matzah) 15th-21st of Nisan

3. Firstfruits (Bikkurim) Day after Sabbath during Unleavened Bread

4. Pentecost (Shavuot) 50 days after Firstfruits

Fall Feasts:

5. Trumpets (Yom Teruah) 1st of Tishri

6. Atonement (Yom Kippur) 10th of Tishri

7. Tabernacles (Sukkot) 15th-21st of Tishri

8. Eighth Day (Shemini Atzeret) 22nd of Tishri

These dates are based on LUNAR observation, not fixed solar dates.

Who Kept the Original Calendar?

The Essenes The sect that produced the Dead Sea Scrolls

The Essenes rejected the corrupted Temple calendar (which had adopted Hellenistic influences) and maintained what they believed was the original calendar given by God.

Key Essene calendar distinctives:

Purely lunar-based
Required actual moon sighting
Rejected mathematical calculation
Maintained agricultural intercalation
Refused compromise with Greek/Roman systems

Their reasoning: God’s calendar cannot be corrupted by man’s mathematics or political convenience.

The Essenes were called separatists, purists, extremists.

But were they right?

God’s Perspective on His Calendar

From Scripture:

Psalm 104:19 “He made the moon for the seasons (mo’adim); the sun knows the place of its setting”

The MOON marks the appointed times. Not man’s calculations.

Isaiah 66:23 “And it shall be from new moon to new moon and from sabbath to sabbath, all mankind will come to bow down before Me”

The prophetic future Kingdom will operate on God’s lunar calendar.

Ezekiel 46:1, 3 “The gate of the inner court facing east shall be shut the six working days; but it shall be opened on the sabbath day and opened on the day of the new moon”

The new moon is a sacred observance in the Kingdom age.

God’s perspective: The luminaries He created mark time. Man’s mathematical adjustments are corruption.

Calendar Two: The Julian Calendar (Roman Corruption)

Historical Background

Implemented: 45 BC by Julius Caesar

The Roman Empire needed a standardized calendar for administrative, military, and taxation purposes. Julius Caesar, with the help of Greek astronomer Sosigenes, reformed the chaotic Roman calendar.

Key changes:

Purely SOLAR calendar (ignoring lunar cycles)
365 days per year
Leap year every 4 years (adding Feb 29)
Months of fixed length (no connection to moon)
New Year moved to January 1 (away from spring)

How It Corrupted Biblical Timekeeping

1. Severed connection to the moon

God said the moon marks the mo’adim (appointed times). The Julian calendar ignores the moon entirely.

Result: Biblical feast days become “floating” and disconnected from their lunar moorings.

2. Fixed month lengths

Months are no longer tied to lunar cycles:

January: 31 days
February: 28/29 days
March: 31 days
(etc.)

Biblical months were 29-30 days based on actual moon observation.

Result: Gradual drift from God’s intended timing.

3. Year begins in winter, not spring

God commanded the year to begin in Aviv (spring). The Julian calendar begins in January (dead of winter).

Result: Disconnection from agricultural cycles and spring redemption themes.

Jewish Adoption and Corruption

During the Babylonian exile and subsequent Hellenistic period, the Jewish people gradually adopted elements of the Julian system:

Mathematical calculation instead of observation
Fixed lengths for convenience
Integration with Roman civil society

By the time of Jesus, the Temple authorities were using a hybrid system:

Still lunar-based for feasts
But incorporating Greek/Roman mathematical methods
Political considerations affecting calendar decisions

The Essenes rejected this compromise, maintaining the pure observational calendar.

Jesus’ perspective on the corrupted system:

Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law”

Mark 7:7-9 “But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.

Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men… You are experts at
setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition”

The corruption of the calendar was part of the larger corruption of God’s commands for human convenience.

From God’s Perspective: Lawlessness

Romans 1:25 “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator”

The Julian calendar represents:

Man’s authority over time instead of God’s
Imperial control instead of divine design
Convenience over obedience
Calculation over observation
Rebellion disguised as progress

2 Thessalonians 2:7 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work”

Changing God’s calendar is lawlessness—rejecting His authority over time itself.

Calendar Three: The Gregorian Calendar (Papal Reformation)

Historical Background

Implemented: 1582 AD by Pope Gregory XIII

The Julian calendar had a flaw: the solar year is actually 365.2425 days, not exactly 365.25. This caused a drift of about 11 minutes per year.

By 1582: The calendar was off by 10 days.

Pope Gregory’s solution:

Skip 10 days (Oct 4, 1582 → Oct 15, 1582)
Refine leap year rules
Further standardize the solar system

Key Changes From Julian

1. Leap year refinement

Still every 4 years
EXCEPT century years not divisible by 400
(1700, 1800, 1900 not leap years; 2000 was)

2. Removed 10 days from history

October 4, 1582 was followed by October 15, 1582
10 days simply ceased to exist

3. Greater solar precision

Brings calendar closer to actual solar year
But further from lunar cycles

The Corruption Deepens

Everything wrong with the Julian calendar, plus:

1. Papal authority over time

The Pope claimed authority to “correct” time itself. This is the ultimate arrogance—man declaring he can fix God’s design.

2. Further disconnection from moon

The Gregorian refinements ignore lunar cycles even more completely. The moon becomes entirely irrelevant.

3. Protestant rejection, then adoption

Many Protestant nations initially rejected the “Papist” calendar on principle. But eventually adopted it for economic/political convenience.

Even the resistance to papal corruption eventually gave way to pragmatism.

4. Global dominance

The Gregorian calendar is now the global civil standard. Nearly every nation uses it for official purposes.

Result: God’s calendar is forgotten, even by most believers.

Jewish Adoption: The Hillel II Calendar

In 358-359 AD, Rabbi Hillel II established a permanent calculated Hebrew calendar to avoid persecution and dispersion issues.

This calendar:

Uses mathematical calculation (not observation)
Fixes month lengths
Predetermines feast days years in advance
Integrates aspects of both Julian and astronomical systems

Modern Judaism uses this calculated calendar, not the original observational one.

The irony: The Jewish people use a calendar that borrows from Roman/Greek systems they were supposed to reject.

From God’s Perspective: Deepening Lawlessness

Daniel 7:25 “He will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law”

“Alterations in times and in law” This is precisely what the Gregorian calendar represents:

Papal authority changing time itself
Human calculation replacing divine design
Convenience replacing obedience

Revelation 13:5-7 The beast is given authority to “make war with the saints and to overcome them”

Changing the calendar is spiritual warfare. It disconnects believers from God’s appointed times and obscures prophetic fulfillment.

The Critical Question: Which Calendar Does Jesus Use?

Jesus Is Outside Time

Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega… who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty”

John 8:58 “Before Abraham was born, I am”

Jesus exists in eternal present. He created time but is not bound by it.

However, when Jesus acts IN time, He uses HIS CREATION—the luminaries He designed.

Jesus Observed God’s Calendar

During His earthly ministry:

Passover John 2:13, 6:4, 11:55 Jesus went to Jerusalem for Passover

Tabernacles John 7:2, 10 Jesus went up to the feast

Dedication (Hanukkah) John 10:22 Jesus in Jerusalem for the feast

Jesus operated according to the lunar-based feast calendar, not Roman timing.

His death, burial, and resurrection fulfilled the spring feasts:

Passover Crucified on 14th Nisan
Unleavened Bread Buried, sinless in the grave
Firstfruits Resurrected on the day after the Sabbath
Pentecost Holy Spirit poured out 50 days later

These fulfillments were according to GOD’S CALENDAR, not man’s.

For Prophetic Fulfillment, Which Calendar?

If Jesus gave a prophet a date “September 23, 2025” for the Rapture:

Which calendar system would He use?

Option 1: Gregorian, The papal, solar-based, internationally dominant system

Problems: Disconnected from moon, disconnected from feasts, man-made corruption

Option 2: Modern calculated Hebrew Hillel II mathematical calendar

Problems: Still calculated, not observed; influenced by Roman systems

Option 3: Original observational lunar God’s design from Creation

This is what the Essenes maintained
This is what Jesus observed during His ministry
This is what will be used in the Kingdom (Isaiah 66:23)

Logical conclusion: Jesus would use the calendar He designed and observed.

Comparing the Calendars: September 23, 2025

The Challenge: Calendar Drift

The three calendars do not align. They drift over time.

Why?

Gregorian = Purely solar (365.2425 days)

Modern Hebrew = Luni-solar calculated (alternates 29-30 day months, adds leap month every 2-3 years)

Observational Hebrew = Depends on actual moon sighting and barley ripeness

The drift between them increases over time.

What Day Is Today?

October 10, 2025 on the Gregorian calendar

Let’s compare:

Gregorian Calendar:

October 10, 2025

Modern Hebrew (Hillel II) Calendar:

Today would be approximately 18th Tishri, 5786 (During Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles)

Original Observational Calendar (Estimated):

Potentially 10-15 days different from calculated Hebrew calendar.

Exact date depends on when new moon was actually sighted.

Barley harvest determines year beginning.

The modern calculated Hebrew calendar uses the “Molad” (calculated mean conjunction) rather than actual sighting.

The original calendar requires:

Physical sighting of the crescent moon
Verification by witnesses
Declaration by authorities
Adjustment based on agricultural seasons

Was September 23, 2025 Actually Rosh Hashanah?

On the Gregorian calendar: September 23, 2025

On the modern calculated Hebrew calendar:

Rosh Hashanah 5786 fell on September 23-24, 2025 (Gregorian) This is Tishri 1-2, 5786

But on the ORIGINAL observational calendar:

Critical question: Was the new moon actually sighted on September 23 in Jerusalem?

Factors affecting observational calendar:

Atmospheric conditions Clouds, dust, weather
Witness availability Who was watching and where?
Moon’s angle Visibility depends on latitude and season
Barley ripeness Was it aviv (spring) six months prior?

If the actual moon sighting was obscured or delayed by even 1-2 days:

Then Rosh Hashanah 5786 would be September 24-25 or even September 25-26.

The 10-15 Day Possibility

Some scholars argue the drift between calculated and observational calendars could be 10-15 days.

If true:

September 23 on Gregorian = Elul 29 on observational calendar

The day BEFORE Rosh Hashanah.

Meaning:

Rosh Hashanah on the observational calendar might be October 7-8, 2025 (Gregorian).

Or even later: October 14-15, October 21-22, or October 27-28, 2025 (Gregorian).

The October 27-28, 2025 Theory

Some are watching October 27-28, 2025 (Gregorian) as potentially significant.

Why?

If there’s a 21-day delay pattern from Rosh Hashanah (calculated) to the actual fulfillment:

September 23 (calculated Rosh Hashanah) + 21 days = October 14

But if we’re counting from when Rosh Hashanah SHOULD have been observed…

And if Shemini Atzeret (8th day) is the actual fulfillment point…

October 27-28 falls during what some calculate as Shemini Atzeret on the ORIGINAL calendar.

The question: Has God’s true Rosh Hashanah even occurred yet from HIS calendar perspective?

The Prophetic Implication

If Jesus Uses His Original Calendar

Scenario:

Jesus appears to a prophet and says: “September 23, 2025”

The prophet hears “September 23, 2025”

The prophet assumes this is the Gregorian date...

But Jesus was using His original observational lunar calendar...

Which might be 10-15+ days different from Gregorian...

Result: “September 23” on God’s calendar might be early-to-mid October on the Gregorian calendar.

The prophet wasn’t wrong about the revelation—just wrong about which calendar.

The “Delay” Might Be a Translation Issue

What we call “delay” might be:

Correct date, wrong calendar system

We’re reading God’s calendar with man’s watch

Like reading Hebrew from left to right—gets the letters, misses the meaning

Habakkuk 2:2-3 “Record the vision… Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay”

What if it’s not “tarrying” from God’s perspective?

What if WE are tarrying because we’re using the wrong calendar?

Why Would God Allow Confusion?

Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us”

Possible purposes:

Test the heart Who is watching for dates vs. watching for Jesus?

Expose false motives Who wants vindication vs. who wants Him?

Humble the proud Who claims to know vs. who admits dependence?

Refine the Bride Who keeps watching despite disappointment?

Display sovereignty God’s timing is perfect, man’s calculation is not...

Daniel 12:9-10 “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time… but those who have insight will understand”

“Those who have insight will understand” Perhaps this includes understanding which calendar God uses.

What Day Is It Really?

From God’s Perspective

If we could see time from Jesus’ perspective:

He sees all moments simultaneously
Past, present, future are one “eternal now”
His calendar operates outside our dimensional time

But when He acts IN our time, He uses the markers He created: sun, moon, stars.

Therefore:

God’s “September 23” is determined by:

Actual crescent moon sighting
Agricultural ripeness (barley in spring)
Witness verification
Not by human calculation or papal decree

Could Rosh Hashanah Still Be Future?

If the calculated Hebrew calendar is off by 10-15 days:

And if the true new moon sighting hasn’t occurred yet according to observational standards:

Then technically, Rosh Hashanah 5786 hasn’t happened yet from God’s perspective.

Even though it’s October 10 on the Gregorian calendar.

The feast could still be future.

The 21-Day Pattern

Daniel 10:12-13 “Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days”

A 21-day delay in prophetic fulfillment due to spiritual warfare.

If applied to 2025:

Calculated Rosh Hashanah: September 23
Add 21 days = October 14
But if true Rosh Hashanah is later…
Then 21 days from TRUE Rosh Hashanah = ?

Some are watching:

October 14-15 (21 days from calculated)
October 27-28 (potential Shemini Atzeret on original calendar)
November 10-11 (further adjustments)

Conclusion: Which Calendar Does Jesus Use?

The Answer: His Own

Jesus created the sun, moon, and stars to mark time. He gave the Israelites a lunar-observational calendar. He fulfilled the spring feasts according to this calendar.

He will fulfill the fall feasts according to His calendar, not man’s corrupted versions.

The question for watchers:

Are we watching according to:

The Gregorian calendar (papal/Roman corruption)?
The calculated Hebrew calendar (Hillel II mathematical system)?
The original observational calendar (God’s design)?

If Jesus gave a date, He gave it according to HIS system.

And His system requires:

Moon observation
Agricultural verification
Feast alignment

We cannot calculate this perfectly from our corrupted calendars.

We can only:

Watch the actual moon
Watch for feast seasons
Watch for signs
Stay ready regardless

The “failed” prediction might not be failed—just mistranslated between calendar systems.

The delay might not be delay—just our inability to read God’s watch.

Either way:

The command remains: WATCH

Regardless of which day it is on which calendar.

Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows”...

Perhaps “no one knows” includes:

No one knows which calendar system God is using for timing.

And that’s exactly the point—we must watch CONSTANTLY, not just on calculated dates.

For further study: Research the Essene calendar from the Dead Sea Scrolls, compare calculated vs. observational Hebrew calendars, and track actual new moon sightings in Jerusalem.
