Jesus as KING
The Eternal Ruler
“But of the Son He says, ‘Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your companions.’ And, ‘You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Your hands; they will perish, but You remain; and they all will become old like a garment, and like a mantle You will roll them up; like a garment they will also be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not come to an end.’” (Hebrews 1:8-12)
A Final Reminder: The Voice of the King
Beloved reader, as we conclude this trilogy of articles, we continue writing from Jesus’ perspective. This is not presumption—this is submission to His singular lordship. He alone is our Teacher, our Rabbi, our Master (Matthew 23:8-10).
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ (Romans 10:17). As you read these words, you are not encountering human wisdom or theological speculation. You are hearing the voice of the King of kings, speaking directly to your heart by His Spirit through His written Word.
The question is not whether the King is speaking—He always speaks through His Word. The question is: Will you hear? Will you bow? Will you submit? Will you worship?
Now, let the King address His Bride…
-----
The Throne That Cannot Be Shaken
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.” (Hebrews 1:8)
Beloved Bride, hear what the Father declares about Me: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.”
Notice carefully: The Father calls Me “God”—not merely a representative of God, not just a messenger from God, but God Himself. This is the eternal Son receiving worship, honor, and sovereign authority from the Father.
And notice the duration of My throne: “forever and ever.” Not for a season. Not for an age. Not until something better comes along. FOREVER. My reign has no beginning (I am eternal) and no end (I am everlasting). My Kingdom knows no succession, no coup, no overthrow, no abdication.
Every earthly throne will crumble. Every human kingdom will fall. Every political power will fade into dust. But My throne—it cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:27-28). It is established in heaven, founded on righteousness, secured by divine decree, and maintained by infinite power.
When the prophet Daniel interpreted Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, he saw four great kingdoms rise and fall—Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome (Daniel 2:31-43). But then he saw a stone cut without hands that struck the image and crushed all those kingdoms, growing into a great mountain that filled the whole earth (Daniel 2:44-45).
I am that Stone. “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone” (Psalm 118:22; Matthew 21:42). I am the Kingdom that will never be destroyed. “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever” (Daniel 2:44).
Every earthly king dies. But I am the King who conquered death. Every earthly kingdom passes away. But I am the King whose Kingdom is eternal. Every earthly throne is temporary. But My throne is forever and ever.
This is who you’re serving. This is who you’re worshiping. This is who is coming to receive you as His Bride. Not a temporal ruler who will eventually fail, but the eternal King who reigns forever.
The Righteous Scepter: Justice and Judgment
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness.” (Hebrews 1:8-9)
The scepter is the symbol of royal authority—the instrument of rule, the emblem of power, the sign of sovereignty. Every king has a scepter, but not every scepter is righteous.
Throughout history, kings have wielded their scepters:
- In tyranny—oppressing their subjects
- In corruption—enriching themselves at others’ expense
- In injustice—favoring the powerful and crushing the weak
- In cruelty—executing judgment without mercy
- In caprice—ruling according to whim rather than law
But My scepter is righteous. Every decision I make is just. Every decree I issue is fair. Every judgment I render is perfect. I never show partiality (Romans 2:11). I never take bribes. I never pervert justice. I rule in absolute righteousness because I AM righteousness (1 Corinthians 1:30).
The Father testifies: “You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness.”
Notice—this is not passive tolerance of good and mild disapproval of evil. This is active, passionate love for righteousness and fierce, holy hatred of lawlessness.
I love righteousness. It delights Me. It satisfies Me. It aligns with every fiber of My being. When I see justice done, truth spoken, integrity displayed, mercy shown, holiness pursued—My heart rejoices.
I hate lawlessness. It grieves Me. It repels Me. It stands opposed to everything I am. When I see injustice, deception, corruption, cruelty, rebellion—My wrath burns.
This is crucial for you to understand as My Bride: The King you’re marrying is not morally neutral. I don’t shrug at sin. I don’t overlook wickedness. I don’t tolerate evil. I hate it with perfect, holy hatred.
But here’s the wonder: I loved you while you were still a sinner (Romans 5:8). I didn’t love your sin—I hated it so much that I died to destroy it. But I loved you—the person enslaved to sin—and I gave My life to set you free.
This is the paradox of the righteous King: I hate sin with infinite intensity, yet I love sinners with infinite passion. And My love for sinners drove Me to the cross to deal with the sin I hate, so I could redeem the people I love.
Now that you’re Mine—now that you’re My Bride—I’m conforming you to My character. I’m teaching you to love what I love and hate what I hate. I’m transforming your values to match Mine. I’m making you like Me, the righteous King.
“Be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). Not as a burdensome demand you can never fulfill, but as a gracious invitation into My nature. I’m making you righteous because I am the Righteous One.
Creator-King: Authority Over All Creation
“You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Your hands; they will perish, but You remain; and they all will become old like a garment, and like a mantle You will roll them up; like a garment they will also be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not come to an end.” (Hebrews 1:10-12)
Now the Father takes you back to the very beginning to establish the foundation of My kingship: I am the Creator.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). But who is this “God” who created? The Father created through the Word—and “the Word was God” and “all things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being” (John 1:1, 3).
I am that Word. I am the Creator-King.
Before I could be recognized as Savior, I had to be acknowledged as Creator. Before I could redeem, I had to create. Before I could restore, I had to originate. Everything that exists came into being through Me.
This establishes My absolute authority:
1. I own everything by right of creation.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it” (Psalm 24:1). You don’t own yourself—I made you, therefore I own you. This isn’t tyranny; it’s reality. The Creator has absolute rights over His creation.
2. I sustain everything by the word of My power.
I didn’t just create and walk away. “In Him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17). “He upholds all things by the word of His power” (Hebrews 1:3). Every atom in the universe remains in orbit because I am actively holding it together. The moment I withdrew My sustaining word, everything would collapse into chaos.
3. I govern everything according to My purpose.
“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen” (Romans 11:36). Nothing happens outside My sovereign plan. No event surprises Me. No rebellion thwarts Me. I work all things after the counsel of My will (Ephesians 1:11).
4. I will recreate everything at the consummation.
“They will perish, but You remain…like a garment they will also be changed.” The present creation is temporary. It’s been subjected to futility because of sin (Romans 8:20). But I will roll it up like an old garment and create new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1).
But notice the contrast: Creation changes, but “You are the same, and Your years will not come to an end.”
Everything else is mutable—subject to change, decay, and death. But I am immutable—unchanging, constant, eternal. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
This means:
- The love I have for you will never diminish
- The commitment I made to you will never waver
- The promises I gave you will never fail
- The character I revealed will never change
- The King you serve today is the same King who will reign forever
Heir of All Things: Inheriting the Universe
”…whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.” (Hebrews 1:2)
The Father has appointed Me “heir of all things.” Think about what this means.
An heir is someone who receives an inheritance—who takes possession of what belongs to another. But who could give Me an inheritance? The Father, who owns everything.
The Father, in His eternal love for the Son, has decreed: “Everything I have is Yours. The entire universe is Your inheritance. All creation belongs to You. Every nation, every kingdom, every throne, every power, every authority—it’s all Yours.”
This is what Psalm 2 prophesied: “Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession” (Psalm 2:8).
And this is what I declared after My resurrection: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18).
Not some authority. Not limited authority. ALL authority. In heaven and on earth. Over angels and humans. Over spiritual and physical realms. Over time and eternity. Everything is Mine.
But here’s the staggering truth: You are joint-heirs with Me (Romans 8:17). If you are Mine—if you’re part of My Bride—then what I inherit, you inherit.
“He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son” (Revelation 21:7). You’re not just servants in My Kingdom—you’re children of the King, princes and princesses, heirs of the royal throne.
The meek will inherit the earth (Matthew 5:5). The faithful will rule over cities (Luke 19:17-19). Those who overcome will sit with Me on My throne (Revelation 3:21). You will reign with Me in the age to come (Revelation 20:6; 22:5).
This isn’t pride or arrogance—this is the Father’s gracious plan. He is bringing many sons to glory (Hebrews 2:10), making them co-heirs with His own Son, sharing His inheritance with those He has adopted into His family.
What you do with this present life matters for your future reign. The faithfulness you show now determines the authority you’ll exercise then. “Well done, good and faithful slave; you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master” (Matthew 25:21).
King of Righteousness, King of Peace
“For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God…first of all, by the translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace.” (Hebrews 7:1-2)
We touched on Melchizedek in the previous article about My priesthood, but now let’s see him as a prophetic picture of My kingship.
Melchizedek was king of Salem (which became Jerusalem) and priest of God Most High. His name means “king of righteousness,” and Salem means “peace.”
He was a prophetic type of Me—the King who is both Priest and King, both Righteousness and Peace.
But notice the order: “First…king of righteousness, and then also king of…peace.”
Righteousness must come before peace. There can be no true peace without righteousness. The world tries to have peace without righteousness—they want comfort, prosperity, and harmony while ignoring justice, truth, and holiness. It never works. False peace built on unrighteousness always crumbles.
I establish peace through righteousness.
At the cross, righteousness and peace kissed each other (Psalm 85:10):
- Righteousness demanded that sin be punished—and I bore that punishment
- Peace required that the enmity between God and humanity be removed—and My blood removed it
- Justice required full payment—and I paid it in full
- Mercy wanted to forgive—and forgiveness flowed freely once justice was satisfied
Now, because I am the King of Righteousness, I can be the King of Peace. Because I dealt with sin righteously, I can offer peace freely. “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
This is the peace I give: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you” (John 14:27).
The world’s peace is:
- Temporary—it doesn’t last
- Superficial—it doesn’t touch the heart
- Conditional—it depends on circumstances
- Fragile—it breaks under pressure
My peace is:
- Eternal—it lasts forever
- Deep—it guards your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7)
- Unconditional—it doesn’t fluctuate with circumstances
- Unshakable—it endures through trials
And this peace flows from My throne as the righteous King. When you submit to My rule, when you align with My righteousness, when you walk in My ways—you experience My peace.
But when you rebel against My kingship, when you pursue your own way, when you reject My righteousness—you forfeit My peace. Not as punishment, but as natural consequence. Peace is the fruit of righteousness (James 3:18).
So the question for you, My Bride: Are you experiencing My peace? Or are you anxious, worried, fearful?
If you lack peace, examine whether you’re submitted to Me as King. True peace comes from true submission to the righteous King.
Seated at the Right Hand of Majesty
“When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” (Hebrews 1:3)
“But He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.” (Hebrews 10:12-13)
After I accomplished redemption—after I made purification of sins through My sacrifice on the cross—I sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
This is a position of:
1. COMPLETION
The priests in the Old Covenant never sat down—there were no chairs in the Tabernacle or Temple because their work was never finished. They offered sacrifices continually, day after day, year after year. But I sat down because My work is finished (John 19:30). The sacrifice for sins has been made once for all. Redemption is complete. There is nothing left to do concerning your salvation.
2. AUTHORITY
The right hand is the position of power and authority. When the Father seated Me at His right hand, He was declaring to all creation: “This is My beloved Son. He has all authority. He speaks with My voice. He acts with My power. He rules with My sovereignty.”
3. HONOR
To sit at the right hand of the king is the highest honor imaginable. The Father has exalted Me “to the highest place and gave Me the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
4. REST
I am seated—resting—not because I’m inactive (I’m interceding, sustaining all things, building My church, preparing your dwelling place), but because I’m not striving. The battle for redemption is won. The victory is secured. Now I’m simply waiting for the Father’s timing to return and consummate all things.
“Waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet” (Hebrews 10:13).
Notice: I don’t have to make My enemies a footstool—the Father will do it. I don’t have to fight for My throne—it’s already Mine. I don’t have to struggle to establish My Kingdom—it’s already established.
I’m simply waiting for the appointed time when the Father says, “Go, My Son. Return to earth. Gather Your Bride. Judge Your enemies. Establish Your visible, universal reign.”
And when that moment comes—oh, when that moment comes!—every knee will bow. Not just willing knees, but every knee. Those who loved Me will bow in worship. Those who rejected Me will bow in terror. But everyone will bow.
King of Kings, Lord of Lords
“And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, ‘KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.’” (Revelation 19:16)
When I return—and I am returning soon—I will be revealed as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
What does this title mean?
There are many kings on earth—but I am King over all of them. Every earthly ruler, every president, every prime minister, every emperor, every dictator—they rule only by My permission, and they will all bow before My throne.
“He removes kings and establishes kings” (Daniel 2:21). “The Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, and bestows it on whom He wishes” (Daniel 4:17). No one rules except by My decree.
There are many lords (masters, authorities) on earth—but I am Lord over all of them. Every spiritual power, every demonic principality, every angelic being, every human authority—all are subordinate to Me.
“Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come” (Ephesians 1:21). I reign supreme over every hierarchy, natural and supernatural.
When I return in glory, riding on a white horse (Revelation 19:11), the armies of heaven will follow Me. Not to help Me win the battle—the battle is already won. But to witness My victory, to celebrate My triumph, to see My enemies finally and fully defeated.
“And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet…these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire” (Revelation 19:20). Every opposing power will be crushed. Every rebellious kingdom will fall. Every enemy will be subdued.
And then—then!—I will establish My Kingdom in its fullness on earth as it is in heaven. The prayer you’ve been praying will be answered: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
The Kingdom That Cannot Be Shaken
“Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:28-29)
Everything in this present world system is shaking. Governments are unstable. Economies are volatile. Societies are fragmenting. Certainty is crumbling. Security is disappearing. The whole creation is groaning (Romans 8:22).
But you are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken.
Not “will receive someday”—but “receive” present tense. You’re already citizens of My Kingdom (Philippians 3:20). You’re already seated with Me in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). You’re already transferred out of the domain of darkness into the Kingdom of God’s beloved Son (Colossians 1:13).
My Kingdom is already here—though not yet in its fullness. It’s already operative—though not yet universally visible. It’s already powerful—though not yet openly manifest to all creation.
And it cannot be shaken. When everything else collapses, My Kingdom will stand. When nations rise and fall, My Kingdom endures. When economies boom and bust, My Kingdom remains stable. When civilizations flourish and decline, My Kingdom keeps advancing.
Why? Because My Kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36). It doesn’t depend on earthly power, political maneuvering, military might, or economic strength. It depends on Me—the eternal King whose throne is forever.
So what’s the proper response to receiving this unshakable Kingdom?
“Let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe.”
Not fear that produces paralysis. Not terror that brings torment. But reverence and awe—a deep, worshipful recognition of who I am and what I’ve done.
And then this sobering reminder: “For our God is a consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:29, quoting Deuteronomy 4:24).
I am not a tame Lion. I am not a domesticated God who exists for your comfort. I am not a cosmic butler serving your preferences. I am the consuming fire—holy, powerful, fearsome in majesty.
This fire consumes everything that opposes Me. It burns up wood, hay, and stubble (1 Corinthians 3:12-15). It purges dross and refines gold (Malachi 3:2-3). It will ultimately consume all My enemies.
But for those who are Mine—for My Bride—this fire is not destructive but purifying. It’s not punishment but refinement. I’m burning away everything in you that’s not like Me, so you can shine with My glory forever.
The Stone That Fills the Earth
“In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.” (Daniel 2:44)
Let Me take you back to Daniel’s prophecy—the stone cut without hands that struck the great image and crushed all earthly kingdoms (Daniel 2:31-45).
That image represented human kingdoms built on human power:
- The head of gold: Babylon (human glory)
- The chest of silver: Medo-Persia (human strength)
- The belly of bronze: Greece (human wisdom)
- The legs of iron and feet of clay: Rome and its successors (human might mixed with human weakness)
Every human kingdom is fundamentally flawed because it’s built by human hands. Even the best human governments are corrupted by sin. Even the wisest human leaders make mistakes. Even the strongest human empires eventually crumble.
But I am the stone cut without hands—not made by human effort, not established by human power, not sustained by human wisdom. I am established by divine decree, empowered by divine might, and sustained by divine faithfulness.
And when I strike the image—when I return in glory—all human kingdoms will be crushed. Not reformed. Not improved. Not renovated. Crushed. Brought to an end. Swept away like chaff on the threshing floor.
And then the stone will grow into a great mountain that fills the whole earth (Daniel 2:35). My Kingdom will expand until it covers the entire planet. My rule will extend to every nation, every people, every tongue.
This is the inevitable future. This is the certain destiny. This is the Father’s plan that cannot be thwarted.
Human kingdoms rise and fall on a timeline that lasts decades or centuries. But My Kingdom is eternal—it will never be destroyed, never be conquered, never be replaced.
“Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end” (Isaiah 9:7). My Kingdom keeps expanding, keeps growing, keeps advancing—forever.
The Coronation: Every Knee Will Bow
“Therefore God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11)
There is coming a day—the Day—when My kingship will be universally acknowledged.
Right now, many deny Me. Many reject Me. Many curse My name. Many refuse to bow. But that Day is coming when every single knee will bow—willingly or unwillingly.
Those in heaven will bow—the angels, the redeemed, the elders around the throne. They bow even now in worship, declaring, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing” (Revelation 5:12).
Those on earth will bow—every living human being, from the greatest to the least, from emperors to slaves, from the righteous to the wicked. All will bow.
Those under the earth will bow—every demon, every fallen angel, every evil spirit, and ultimately Satan himself. Even My enemies will be forced to acknowledge My supremacy.
And every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Not just lip service. Not just empty words. But genuine confession of My absolute lordship and authority.
For those who loved Me, this will be:
- WORSHIP - the culmination of a lifetime of devotion
- JOY - seeing their King glorified at last
- VINDICATION - watching every opponent acknowledge what they always believed
- FULFILLMENT - entering into the fullness of Kingdom life
For those who rejected Me, this will be:
- TERROR - facing the King they denied
- SHAME - confessing the truth they refused
- JUDGMENT - receiving the justice they spurned
- LOSS - forfeiting the grace they despised
But all will bow. All will confess.
And notice the purpose: “To the glory of God the Father.” My coronation glorifies the Father. My exaltation brings Him honor. My universal acknowledgment accomplishes His plan.
Everything—always—is for the glory of God the Father. Period. End of story.
Preparing a Kingdom for the King’s Bride
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32)
“Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Matthew 25:34)
Beloved Bride, here is the astounding reality: The Father is giving you the Kingdom.
Not as hired servants earning wages. Not as distant subjects receiving scraps from the King’s table. But as beloved children inheriting their Father’s estate.
The Kingdom has been prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Before Adam sinned, before the fall occurred, before redemption was needed—the Father already planned to give you the Kingdom through Me.
This wasn’t Plan B. This wasn’t a contingency strategy. This was always the plan:
- The Father would send the Son
- The Son would redeem a Bride
- The Bride would be glorified
- The Bride would reign with the King forever
You are that Bride. And the Kingdom prepared from eternity past is your inheritance.
“If children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him” (Romans 8:17).
You will reign with Me because you’re united to Me. What belongs to Me belongs to you. Where I am, you will be. What I inherit, you inherit. When I rule, you rule.
But notice the condition: “if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.”
The path to reigning passes through suffering. The crown comes after the cross. Glory follows suffering. Exaltation comes through humiliation.
I modeled this path: “Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered” (Hebrews 5:8). I “endured the cross, despising the shame” so I could be “seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
Now you must walk the same path. Not as payment for your salvation—that’s been paid in full. But as preparation for your glorification. The King is training His Bride to reign.
Every trial you endure with faith—that’s royal training. Every temptation you overcome through My strength—that’s learning to rule. Every act of obedience when it costs you something—that’s preparation for reigning.
“If we endure, we will also reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:12). The faithfulness you show now determines the authority you’ll exercise then.
The Wedding Feast of the King
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready. It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” (Revelation 19:7-8)
All of history is moving toward one glorious event: the wedding feast of the Lamb and His Bride.
I am the Lamb—the sacrifice who died for you, whose blood redeemed you, who purchased you for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation (Revelation 5:9).
You are the Bride—chosen, loved, cleansed, adorned, prepared for Me.
And the wedding feast is coming—the great celebration when the King receives His Bride and the two become one forever.
This is not metaphor. This is not allegory. This is spiritual reality expressed in nuptial imagery because there is no better picture of the intimacy, covenant, and eternal union between Me and you.
The entire biblical story is a love story:
- Creation: The Groom prepares a home for His Bride
- Fall: The Bride is deceived and unfaithful
- Redemption: The Groom pays the bride price with His own blood
- Sanctification: The Bride is being prepared and purified
- Rapture: The Groom comes to receive His Bride
- Wedding: The covenant is consummated
- Kingdom: The King and His Bride reign together forever
And notice what the Bride wears: “Fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.”
You’re clothed in My righteousness—that’s the foundation, the gift of grace that saves you (2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9).
But you’re also clothed in your righteous acts—the works you did in faith, empowered by My Spirit, flowing from your union with Me (Ephesians 2:10).
Both are necessary. You couldn’t do righteous acts without first receiving My righteousness. But having received My righteousness, you should do righteous acts as evidence of your transformation.
The Bride “has made herself ready”—not earning the wedding, but preparing for it. Not qualifying for salvation, but adorning herself for her King.
Are you making yourself ready? Are you purifying yourself as I am pure (1 John 3:3)? Are you washing your robes in My blood (Revelation 7:14)? Are you living in eager expectation of My return?
The wedding is coming. The King is on His way. Will His Bride be ready?
Reigning with the King Forever
“Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:6)
“There will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5)
The ultimate destiny of My Bride is to reign with Me forever.
Not temporarily. Not for a season. Forever and ever.
First, you will reign with Me for a thousand years (the Millennium)—a literal, earthly reign where I sit on David’s throne in Jerusalem and rule the nations with a rod of iron (Revelation 2:27; 19:15).
During this time:
- Satan will be bound (Revelation 20:2)
- The earth will be restored to Edenic conditions (Isaiah 11:6-9)
- Jerusalem will be the capital of the world (Isaiah 2:2-3)
- The redeemed will reign with Christ in resurrected, glorified bodies (Revelation 20:4)
- Justice and peace will cover the earth like waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14)
Then, after the Millennium, after the final judgment, after the old heaven and earth pass away—the eternal state begins.
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband” (Revelation 21:1-2).
And in that new creation—you will reign forever.
What does this mean practically?
You will exercise authority and dominion as My co-heirs, ruling over nations, managing aspects of the new creation, serving as priests and kings in the Father’s eternal Kingdom.
You will create and cultivate, bringing forth beauty, order, and flourishing in ways that glorify God and reflect His character.
You will worship and serve the Father and Me in perfect holiness, unhindered by sin, undistracted by temptation, unencumbered by limitation.
You will explore and discover the infinite riches of God’s wisdom, power, and glory throughout eternity—always learning more, always growing deeper, always finding new dimensions of His greatness.
You will fellowship and enjoy perfect community with the redeemed from every age, every nation, every tongue—all united in love, all reflecting God’s glory from different facets.
And all of this will bring glory to God the Father—forever and ever. Amen.
The King’s Return: The Blessed Hope
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
“Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.” (Titus 2:13)
Beloved Bride, I am coming soon.
Not “maybe.” Not “possibly.” Not “eventually in some vague, distant future.” SOON.
“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done” (Revelation 22:12).
The King is returning for His Bride.
When I ascended to heaven after My resurrection, two angels declared to My disciples: “This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).
I will return physically, bodily, visibly—just as I left.
The Father has appointed a day—the Day—when all things will be consummated. When time will give way to eternity. When faith will become sight. When hope will be realized. When the Kingdom will be fully manifest.
And on that Day:
- The trumpet will sound
- The dead in Christ will rise
- The living believers will be transformed
- We will all be caught up together to meet Me in the air
- And we will be with the Lord forever
This is called the Harpazo—the catching away, the rapture, the gathering of the Bride.
And Titus calls it “the blessed hope”—not “the terrifying expectation” or “the fearful anxiety,” but the BLESSED HOPE.
Why blessed?
- Because you will finally see Me face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12)
- Because your bodies will be transformed into glorified, immortal bodies like Mine (Philippians 3:20-21)
- Because every tear will be wiped away (Revelation 21:4)
- Because you will be with Me where I am, beholding My glory (John 17:24)
- Because the suffering of this present time will give way to eternal glory (Romans 8:18)
Do you love My appearing? (2 Timothy 4:8)
Or are you clinging to this world, loving the things of Babylon, distracted by temporary pleasures, half-hearted in your devotion?
The five wise virgins loved the Bridegroom’s appearing. They kept their lamps burning. They filled them with oil. They watched eagerly. They waited expectantly.
And when the cry went out—“Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6)—they were ready. Their lamps were full. Their hearts were prepared. They entered the wedding feast.
But the five foolish virgins—despite hearing the same message, having the same opportunity, claiming the same faith—were not ready. Their lamps were empty. Their preparation was incomplete. And the door was shut (Matthew 25:10).
Which kind of virgin are you?
The King’s Command: “Occupy Until I Come”
“And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them ten minas and said to them, ‘Do business with this until I come back.’” (Luke 19:13)
While you wait for My return, I have not called you to passivity.
I have given you work to do. “Do business with this until I come back.” Or as the King James Version renders it: “Occupy till I come.”
What does this mean?
1. ADVANCE MY KINGDOM
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). Proclaim the Gospel. Make disciples. Plant churches. Advance My Kingdom throughout the earth.
2. BE FAITHFUL IN YOUR CALLING
Whatever work I’ve given you—do it faithfully, excellently, wholeheartedly, as unto Me (Colossians 3:23). Whether you’re a mother raising children, a businessman managing a company, a student pursuing education, a laborer working with your hands—do it all for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).
3. GROW IN GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). Don’t stagnate. Don’t plateau. Keep growing, keep learning, keep being transformed from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).
4. LOVE ONE ANOTHER
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-35). Let the world see My love flowing through My Body.
5. WATCH AND PRAY
“Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation” (Matthew 26:41). Stay alert. Stay sober. Stay ready. I am coming at an hour you do not expect (Matthew 24:44).
When I return, I will evaluate how you occupied. “Well done, good and faithful servant” will be pronounced over those who were diligent (Matthew 25:21). But “You wicked, lazy slave” will be the judgment on those who wasted their opportunity (Matthew 25:26).
What you do now matters for eternity. The faithfulness you show in this brief life determines the responsibility you’ll carry in the eternal Kingdom.
So occupy. Work. Serve. Love. Watch. Pray.
The King is coming. Be ready.
Bowing Before the King Now
“Therefore God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow…that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11)
Beloved, you have a choice that everyone will eventually face: When will you bow?
You can bow now—voluntarily, lovingly, worshipfully—and enter into the joy of your King. You can confess Me as Lord now, embrace Me as Savior now, submit to Me as King now—and reign with Me forever.
Or you can refuse to bow now—and bow later at the judgment, when it’s too late to receive grace, when mercy has ended, when only justice remains.
But everyone will bow.
The question is not if you will bow, but when and under what circumstances.
So I ask you now:
Will you bow before your King?
Will you acknowledge that I am Lord of lords and King of kings?
Will you confess that I have all authority in heaven and on earth?
Will you submit every area of your life to My sovereign rule?
Will you make Me King not just in theory, but in practice—King over your finances, your relationships, your career, your dreams, your time, your decisions?
Will you stop playing games with partial commitment and give Me everything?
Will you come out of Babylon—out of worldly thinking, worldly values, worldly methods—and live as a citizen of My Kingdom?
Will you deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow Me—no matter the cost?
This is what it means to make Me your King.
Not just agreeing with theological propositions. Not just attending church on Sunday. Not just living a “pretty good” moral life. But total, absolute, unconditional surrender to My lordship.
The King’s Final Invitation
“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.” (Revelation 22:17)
As we close this final article in the trilogy, the King extends one more invitation:
COME.
If you’re thirsty—come and drink freely from the water of life.
If you’re weary—come to Me and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).
If you’re burdened—cast your cares on Me, for I care for you (1 Peter 5:7).
If you’re lost—I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).
If you’re blind—I am the Light of the world (John 8:12).
If you’re dead in your sins—I am the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25).
Come to your King. Bow before your Lord. Submit to your Savior.
The door is still open. Grace is still available. Mercy is still flowing. But the time is short.
“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).
Conclusion: The King and His Bride, Forever
And so we conclude this trilogy—Prophet, Priest, and King.
As PROPHET, I have spoken the Father’s final Word—revealing Him fully, declaring truth completely, calling you out of darkness into light.
As PRIEST, I have made atonement for your sins—offering the perfect sacrifice, interceding constantly, ministering divine life to you as the life-giving Spirit.
As KING, I rule over all creation—Creator and Sustainer, Heir of all things, Lord of lords, coming soon to receive My Bride and establish My Kingdom forever.
These three offices are not separate roles but one unified ministry. I cannot be your Prophet without being your Priest and King. I cannot be your Priest without being your Prophet and King. I cannot be your King without being your Prophet and Priest.
I AM THE ONLY ONE who perfectly fulfills all three offices.
Moses was a prophet—but he needed a priest to atone for his sins and a king to govern God’s people.
Aaron was a priest—but he needed a prophet to reveal God’s word and he himself was never king.
David was a king—but he needed priests to offer sacrifices and prophets to speak God’s word to him.
But I AM Prophet, Priest, and King—perfectly, completely, eternally.
And now I’m preparing My Bride to share in these offices with Me:
- As prophets, you proclaim My Word
- As priests, you minister to God and humanity
- As kings, you will reign with Me forever
All to the glory of God the Father. Period. End of story.
So live as My Bride:
- Know Me—your Prophet, Priest, and King
- Love Me—with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength
- Follow Me—wherever I lead, whatever the cost
- Wait for Me—watching, ready, filled with oil, longing for My appearing
- Serve Me—faithfully occupying until I come
- Worship Me—bowing now in glad submission to your eternal King
The Bridegroom is coming. The King is returning. The Lord of lords will appear.
Will He find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:8)
Will He find His Bride ready, watching, waiting?
Will He find you faithful?
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” (Jude 24-25)
