GLORIFIED: The Already and Not Yet of Romans 8
“And these whom He justified, He also glorified” - Romans 8:30
For centuries, a single, toxic lie has poisoned the faith of millions: You must earn your way to God's acceptance.
This lie is the masterpiece of human religion—a relentless treadmill of performance, penance, and perpetual fear.
We’re told the finish line of glory is somewhere in the distant future, a reward for perfect effort.
This is a deception that must be brutally and truthfully dismantled.
The Book of Romans—the theological summit of the New Testament—demolishes this lie with a single, seismic declaration: "And these whom He justified, He also glorified." (Romans 8:30)
Paul used the past tense because, in the eternal, finished work of Christ, your glory is not a future possibility, but a present reality.
Before you took your first breath, before you sinned, before you ever tried—God stamped your destiny as GLORIFIED.
This is not "try harder" theology; this is "it is finished" reality. It is the most liberating truth in all of Scripture.
Welcome to Romans 8, the chapter that reveals the unshakable, unbreakable chain of your destiny, and invites you to stop striving and finally start living in the radical freedom of the already completed glory of God.
“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” - Romans 8:16-17
REMOVING THE LAYERS OF RELIGIOUS DECEPTION
Before we can see the glory, we must strip away centuries of religious lies that have buried the truth under layers of human tradition, performance-based theology, and satanic deception.
The Greatest Lie: You Must Earn What’s Already Given
Religion says: “Work hard enough and maybe God will accept you.”
Truth says: “And these whom He justified, He also glorified.” - Romans 8:30
Past tense. Already done. Finished before you lifted a finger.
Religion is Satan’s masterpiece—a system that appears to honor God while actually denying the sufficiency of Christ’s finished work. It enslaves billions (Islam, Mormonism, dead Christianity, legalism of all kinds) by making salvation about human effort rather than divine grace.
“You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.” - Galatians 5:4
The devil cannot create—he can only corrupt. He cannot tell truth—he can only lie. And his greatest lie is always the same: “What God freely gives, you must earn.”
This is the lie that trapped the Pharisees. This is the lie that built Rome’s religious empire. This is the lie behind every false religion.
But the truth of Romans 8 demolishes this lie completely.
-----
ROMANS 8: THE FRAMEWORK OF GLORY
Romans 8 is the Mount Everest of Christian theology. Every verse builds toward one climactic revelation: You are ALREADY GLORIFIED in Christ.
Let’s excavate this chapter layer by layer, like archaeologists uncovering ancient treasure.
Verses 1-4: NO CONDEMNATION
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” - Romans 8:1-2
Start here: No condemnation. Not “less condemnation” or “conditional non-condemnation.” NONE.
Why? Because “God did what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh.” - Romans 8:3
The condemnation didn’t disappear—it fell on Jesus. He took it all. Every bit of judgment you deserved landed on Him at the cross.
Verses 5-11: LIFE IN THE SPIRIT
“The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” - Romans 8:6
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” - Romans 8:11
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from death lives in you right now. This isn’t future—this is present reality.
Verses 12-17: HEIRS OF GOD
“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’” - Romans 8:15
You’re not a slave hoping for approval. You’re a son or daughter with full inheritance rights.
“Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.” - Romans 8:17
Co-heirs with Christ. Everything that belongs to Jesus belongs to you. His righteousness. His standing. His glory.
Verses 18-25: CREATION GROANING, WAITING FOR GLORY
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” - Romans 8:18
Notice: Not “revealed TO us” but “revealed IN us.” The glory is already present—it’s just not yet fully manifested.
“For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” - Romans 8:19
All of creation is waiting. Trees, mountains, oceans, animals—everything is groaning, waiting for the sons and daughters of God to be revealed in glory.
Why? Because when we’re glorified, creation itself will be liberated:
“The creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.” - Romans 8:21
Verses 26-27: THE SPIRIT INTERCEDES
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” - Romans 8:26
Even your prayers are sustained by grace. The Spirit prays through you when you don’t know what to say.
-----
ROMANS 8:28-30: THE GOLDEN CHAIN OF REDEMPTION
Now we arrive at the summit—the passage that reveals the entire plan of God from eternity past to eternity future:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” - Romans 8:28-30
The Unbreakable Chain
This is called the “golden chain” of redemption. Each link is forged by God, and not one link can break.
Let’s examine each link:
1. FOREKNEW
“Those God foreknew…”
Before time began, before creation, before you existed—God knew you. Not just “knew about you,” but intimately knew you as His own.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” - Jeremiah 1:5
2. PREDESTINED
“He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son.”
God didn’t just know you—He determined your destiny: to be conformed to the image of Jesus.
This wasn’t Plan B after you believed. This was Plan A before creation.
“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.” - Ephesians 1:4-5
3. CALLED
“Those he predestined, he also called.”
At the appointed time, God called you. Not a general invitation—a specific, effectual call that draws you to Christ.
“The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:24
4. JUSTIFIED
“Those he called, he also justified.”
The moment you were called, you were declared righteous. Not made righteous progressively—declared righteous immediately.
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” - 2 Corinthians 5:21
5. GLORIFIED
“Those he justified, he also glorified.”
Here is the earthquake.
Notice the tense: Past tense. Not “will glorify” but “glorified.”
In God’s eternal perspective, your glorification is already complete.
-----
ROMANS 8:30 - THE ALREADY AND NOT YET TENSION
“And these whom He justified, He also glorified.”
This single verse contains the most profound tension in all of Scripture: You are already glorified, yet not yet manifested in glory.
ALREADY Glorified
In the unseen realm, in eternity, in God’s completed work—you are glorified.
Why can Paul use past tense for something that hasn’t happened yet in time?
Because God exists outside time. From His perspective, the entire plan is already complete. The end is as certain as the beginning.
“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’” - Isaiah 46:10
When God looks at you, He doesn’t see you struggling in sin. He sees you glorified in Christ—radiant, spotless, perfected.
“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” - 2 Corinthians 4:6
NOT YET Manifested
But in this present reality, in these mortal bodies, in this fallen world—the glory is hidden.
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” - 2 Corinthians 4:7
We carry eternal glory in temporary containers. The treasure is real—the container is fragile.
“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” - 1 Corinthians 13:12
-----
THE HARPAZO: WHEN THE ALREADY BECOMES MANIFESTED
The Harpazo (Greek: “to snatch away, to seize, to catch up”) is the moment when what is already true in the unseen realm becomes visible in the seen realm.
The Promise of Glorified Bodies
“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.” - 1 Corinthians 15:51-53
Two groups receive glorified bodies simultaneously:
1. Those Who Have Died (Asleep in Christ)
“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.” - 1 Thessalonians 4:16
Every believer who has died—from Abel to the last martyr before the Rapture—will receive their resurrected, glorified bodies.
They’re currently in Paradise, conscious and aware (Luke 23:43, Philippians 1:23), but without physical bodies. At the Harpazo, they receive glorified physical bodies suited for eternity.
2. Those Who Are Alive (Remaining at His Coming)
“After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” - 1 Thessalonians 4:17
Believers alive at the moment of Christ’s appearance will be transformed instantly—“in the twinkling of an eye”—from mortal to immortal, from corruptible to incorruptible.
No death. No decay. Instant transformation.
What Will Glorified Bodies Be Like?
Jesus after His resurrection gives us the template:
Physical and Real
“Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” - Luke 24:39
Glorified bodies are physical, not ethereal spirits.
Recognizable
The disciples recognized Jesus. We will recognize each other.
Immortal
“When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’” - 1 Corinthians 15:54
No more death. No more decay. No more disease. Eternal life in eternal bodies.
Powerful
Jesus appeared through locked doors (John 20:19), traveled instantly (Luke 24:31), and ascended to heaven (Acts 1:9).
“So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.” - 1 Corinthians 15:42-44
Like His Glorious Body
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” - Philippians 3:20-21
We will be like Him.
“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” - 1 John 3:2
-----
ALL CREATION WAITS FOR THE REVEALING
“For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” - Romans 8:19
Why does creation wait for US?
Because when we’re revealed in glory, creation itself is liberated.
The Curse Will Be Lifted
“Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you.” - Genesis 3:17-18
The earth was cursed because of Adam’s sin. The ground became hostile. Thorns and thistles invaded. Decay and death entered creation.
“For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.” - Romans 8:20-21
Creation didn’t choose this. It was subjected to frustration because of human sin. But it has hope—the same hope we have.
The New Heavens and New Earth
“But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.” - 2 Peter 3:13
“Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.” - Revelation 21:1
When we’re glorified, creation is next to be renewed:
- No more curse
- No more thorns
- No more decay
- No more death
- No more mourning or pain
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” - Revelation 21:4
Heaven Rejoicing, Earth Rejoicing
When the Harpazo occurs, all of heaven and all of creation will erupt in celebration:
“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: ‘Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.’” - Revelation 19:6-7
Only one group will NOT rejoice: Those who love darkness and hate the light.
-----
REVELATION 1-4: JESUS’ MESSAGE TO THE ASSEMBLIES
In Revelation chapters 2-3, Jesus addresses seven churches (assemblies, ekklesia—the “called out ones”) in Asia Minor. Each message follows a pattern:
To the angel of the church
Description of Jesus in glory
Commendation (what they’re doing right)
Rebuke (what they’re doing wrong)
Warning of consequences
Promise to those who overcome
The Angels of the Churches
“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write…” - Revelation 2:1
The word “angel” (angelos) means “messenger.” These are likely:
- Literal angels assigned to oversee each assembly
The pattern is clear: Heaven and earth are working together.
Each assembly has:
- An angel in the unseen realm
- A people in the seen realm
- A message from the King in glory
This is the integration of the already and not yet—the spiritual dimension overseeing the physical.
Ephesus: Lost Their First Love
“Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.” - Revelation 2:4-5
Ephesus—the church Paul poured his life into for three years (Acts 20)—had left their first love.
They still had:
- Correct doctrine
- Hard work
- Perseverance
- Discernment
But they lost:
- Love for Jesus
- Love for each other
- Passion for His presence
This is the danger of religion: You can have all the right theology and still miss the heart of God.
The Pattern in All Seven Churches
Each church receives both commendation and warning (except Smyrna and Philadelphia, which receive only commendation, and Laodicea, which receives only rebuke).
The consistent message:
- Jesus is in glory (Revelation 1:12-18)
- He sees everything (each church description emphasizes His omniscience)
- He calls them to overcome
- He promises reward to those who endure
“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” - Repeated seven times
-----
THE MANIFEST REVEALING OF THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD
“For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” - Romans 8:19
What does this “revealing” look like?
1. Hidden Now
Currently, the world doesn’t recognize who we truly are:
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” - 1 John 3:1
We look ordinary. We seem weak. We appear no different from anyone else.
But that’s only because glory is currently veiled.
2. Revealed Then
When Christ appears, we will be revealed with Him:
“When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” - Colossians 3:4
The veil will be removed. What was hidden will be manifested. Who we truly are in Christ will be undeniable.
3. Reigning With Christ
“If we endure, we will also reign with him.” - 2 Timothy 2:12
“And they will reign for ever and ever.” - Revelation 22:5
Jesus will reign on earth for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:4), and we will reign with Him:
“I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” - Revelation 20:4
This is the manifest revealing:
- Glorified bodies displayed
- Authority exercised
- Justice administered
- Creation restored
- Heaven and earth united
-----
THOSE WHO WILL NOT REJOICE
When the glory is revealed, when the sons and daughters of God are manifested, not everyone will celebrate.
Those Who Love Darkness
“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.” - John 3:19-20
Those who love sin, who cling to rebellion, who worship self—will hate the revealing of God’s glory.
Those Who Built Earthly Kingdoms
“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.” - 1 Corinthians 3:11-13
Those who built:
- Religious empires
- Financial kingdoms
- Political power structures
- Reputations and influence
- Anything not founded on Christ
Will watch it all burn.
All Forms of SELF Will Be Destroyed
Every manifestation of the fallen self will be eliminated:
- Self-promotion → Only Christ exalted
- Self-protection → Total trust in God
- Self-righteousness → Only His righteousness remains
- Self-sufficiency → Complete dependence on Him
- Self-glory → All glory to God alone
“He must become greater; I must become less.” - John 3:30
-----
A PRAYER FOR THE GREAT BASIN REGION
“I pray that every man, woman, and child living in the Great Basin Region would receive the entire GOODNESS OF GOD all at once, waking them up to the absolute GOODNESS of GOD so that they will drop the building of death and temporary empires that will soon burn and build everything upon the ROCK of JESUS CHRIST, the only foundation of Truth.”
This is the heart of the Father—that ALL would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
For those still building earthly kingdoms:
- Banking empires
- Real estate portfolios
- Business ventures
- Political influence
- Religious organizations
The warning is clear: These will burn. Only what’s built on Christ will remain.
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” - Hebrews 12:28-29
-----
GLORY HAS COME: THE TIME IS NOW
“When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” - Luke 21:28
Look at what’s happening RIGHT NOW (November 2025):
Interdimensional beings disclosed - Fallen angels preparing deception
Global government forming - One-world system emerging
Economic control systems - Digital currencies, social credit
Moral collapse accelerating - Good called evil, evil called good
Israel surrounded by enemies - Prophetic alignments
Knowledge exploding - AI, technology advancing exponentially
Love growing cold - Division, hatred, selfishness
Gospel preached globally - Every nation reached
Signs in the heavens - Astronomical phenomena increasing
Every prophetic indicator is flashing red.
The Response: REJOICE
This is not a time to fear. This is a time to rejoice:
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” - Philippians 4:4
Why rejoice when the world is collapsing?
Because our redemption is drawing near!
The darker it gets, the closer He is.
The more chaos increases, the sooner He appears.
The more the enemy rages, the nearer our deliverance.
The Prayer: BE READY AND GET READY
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” - Matthew 24:42
Ask King Jesus:
- “Help us BE READY” - Those already walking in grace, maintain your faith
- “Help us GET READY” - Those still building earthly kingdoms, repent and reorient
- “Help us RECEIVE HIS GLORY” - Open our eyes to see the unseen realm
“Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.” - 2 Peter 3:11-12
-----
THE GLORY OF GOD: ABSOLUTE GOODNESS
The glory of God is not just brightness or power. Glory is the visible manifestation of His goodness.
“And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, ‘The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.’” - Exodus 34:6-7
When Moses asked to see God’s glory, God showed him His goodness (Exodus 33:18-19).
Glory = Goodness
- Nothing missing
- Nothing broken
- Nothing hidden
- Full transparency
- Full knowledge
- Eternally good
- No possibility of bad, evil, or darkness
- Not even the memory of it
This is the glory we will receive. This is the glory already completed in the unseen realm. This is the glory waiting to be revealed.
-----
THE TRIUNE GOD OF ALL GRACE HAVE GIVEN US THE ONE GLORY
“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one.” - John 17:22
Jesus gave us His glory—the same glory the Father gave Him.
How is this possible?
Because the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—are one in glory:
- The Father is glorious
- The Son reflects the Father’s glory perfectly (Hebrews 1:3)
- The Spirit manifests that glory in us (2 Corinthians 3:18)
And now, we share that glory:
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” - 2 Corinthians 3:18
We have not yet received all spiritual gifts in full manifestation because we’re still in these perishable bodies. But when we receive glorified bodies—then the glory will be fully revealed.
-----
JESUS WILL REIGN AS KING OF HEAVEN AND EARTH
“Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: ‘The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.’” - Revelation 11:15
Currently, Jesus reigns in heaven. Soon, He will reign on earth.
“On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” - Revelation 19:16
The Millennial Kingdom
“I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge… They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” - Revelation 20:4
For 1,000 years:
- Jesus will reign from Jerusalem
- Glorified saints will reign with Him
- The earth will be restored
- Peace will cover the earth
- The knowledge of the Lord will fill the earth as waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11:9)
Then the Eternal Kingdom
After the Millennium, after the final rebellion is crushed, after the Great White Throne Judgment:
“Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.” - Revelation 21:1
Forever and ever:
- God dwelling with humanity
- No more death, mourning, crying, or pain
- The river of life flowing from the throne
- The tree of life bearing fruit
- The glory of God illuminating everything
- We in Him, He in us
- Perfectly united
- Eternally glorified
-----
CONCLUSION: THE ALREADY AND NOT YET
We live in the tension:
ALREADY
- Justified
- Sanctified
- Glorified (in God’s eternal perspective)
- Seated with Christ in heavenly places
- Co-heirs with Christ
- Citizens of heaven
- Part of His Body
NOT YET
- Fully manifested in glory
- Glorified bodies received
- All creation restored
- Every enemy under His feet
- The unseen made visible
- The spiritual made physical
But the “not yet” is guaranteed by the “already.”
“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” - 2 Corinthians 1:21-22
The deposit guarantees the full payment.
-----
WHEN WE SEE HIM
“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” - 1 John 3:2
When we see Him, we will be like Him.
This is the promise.
This is the hope.
This is the glory.
And Romans 8:30 declares: It’s already done.
“And these whom He justified, He also glorified.”
Past tense.
Finished.
Guaranteed.
So lift up your heads.
The time is now.
Glory has come.
The King is returning for His Bride—radiant, glorious, spotless, perfected.
“All to the glory of God.”
Amen and Amen.
