The Sleeping Shepherds

How St. George Failed Tyler Robinson and the Coming Judgment

“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says the Lord.” - Jeremiah 23:1

The Monster Grew Up in Plain Sight

Tyler Robinson didn’t become a political assassin overnight. He was molded by a community - St. George, Utah - that failed him at every spiritual level. While the shepherds slept, focused on their political activism and comfortable lifestyles, a 22-year-old honor student transformed into a killer who murdered Charlie Kirk in cold blood.

This blood is on the hands of every sleeping shepherd in Southern Utah.

The question burns in our hearts: Where were the pastors? Where were the biblical teachers? Where were the shepherds God sent to protect the sheep?

The Spiritual Wasteland of St. George

Mormon Dominance and Pastoral Cowardice

St. George sits in the heart of Mormon country, where over 68% of the population belongs to the LDS church. In this environment, biblical Christianity should shine brightest as a beacon of truth. Instead, most evangelical pastors have become cowards, more concerned with:

- Not offending Mormon neighbors
- Maintaining business relationships
- Avoiding “controversial” doctrine
- Building comfortable congregations

“But you have not listened to Me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and every one to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,” says the Lord—“to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine!” - Jeremiah 34:17

Tyler Robinson grew up surrounded by shepherds who refused to proclaim liberty from the bondage of works-based salvation. They let an entire generation believe the Mormon lie rather than risk social discomfort.

Political Idolatry Replaced Gospel Ministry

Southern Utah’s evangelical churches became obsessed with conservative politics instead of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastors who should have been:

- Preaching the Word in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2).

- Exposing the works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11).

- Making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).

- Shepherding the flock of God (1 Peter 5:2).

Instead spent their time:

- Endorsing political candidates

- Hosting “patriotic” services that looked more like political rallies.

- Building relationships with Mormon politicians for “influence”.

- Preaching American civil religion instead of the cross of Christ.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers.” - 2 Timothy 4:3

Jesus and Politics: The Model They Ignored

Christ Rejected Political Solutions

When the people tried to make Jesus king by force, “Jesus therefore, knowing that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, departed again to the mountain by Himself alone” (John 6:15).

Jesus consistently rejected political involvement:

Roman Occupation: Never organized resistance against Rome.

Tax Collection: Said “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s” (Mark 12:17).

Political Power: Told Pilate “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36).

Zealot Movement: Refused to join the Jewish nationalist cause.

Jesus came to save souls, not nations. He came to transform hearts, not governments.

Christ Opposed Religious Leaders

Jesus’s harshest words were reserved for the religious establishment:

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.” - Matthew 23:15

The religious leaders of Jesus’s day:

- Added human traditions to God’s Word (like Mormonism).

- Made salvation dependent on works and ceremonies (like Mormonism).

- Accumulated wealth while the people suffered spiritually (like modern life coaching preachers).

- Collaborated with political powers for personal benefit (like today’s “evangelical” political operatives).

Sound familiar? The same spirit that crucified Christ operates in today’s religious-political complex.

The Politicians and Religious Leaders Conspired

The Unholy Alliance That Killed Jesus

“Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, ‘What shall we do? For this Man works many signs. If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation.’” - John 11:47-48

Notice the conspiracy:

Religious leaders feared losing their power and position.

Political concerns about Roman reaction drove their decisions.

Self-preservation mattered more than truth.

Economic interests (“our place”) influenced spiritual decisions.

This same unholy alliance exists in St. George today.

Modern Conspiracy in Southern Utah

The evangelical pastors in St. George have made the same unholy alliance:

Religious Leaders (Pastors)

- Refuse to challenge Mormon doctrine for fear of social ostracism.

- Preach prosperity and American civil religion instead of the cross.

- Build comfortable churches for wealthy conservatives.

- Avoid “offensive” doctrines like hell, repentance, and exclusive salvation through Christ.

Political Leaders (Mormon and “Christian” politicians)

- Use religious language to gain evangelical support.

- Promote “family values” while supporting a works-based salvation system.

- Benefit from religious leaders who won’t challenge their false doctrine.

- Maintain power through religious-political cooperation.

The Result: A generation like Tyler Robinson - religiously trained but spiritually empty, politically aware but biblically ignorant, morally confused and spiritually unstable.

The Coming Judgment: Wrath of God and the Lamb

The Shepherds Will Be Judged First

“And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, “Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds: ‘Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?’”’ - Ezekiel 34:1-2

God’s judgment always begins with the shepherds:

They fed themselves instead of the sheep - Built comfortable ministries instead of making disciples.

They strengthened not the diseased - Ignored spiritually sick congregations.

They healed not that which was sick - Failed to address doctrinal error in their communities.

They brought not again that which was driven away - Made no effort to reach the lost,

They sought not that which was lost - Avoided evangelism to maintain comfort.

Every pastor in St. George who knew Tyler Robinson’s family and said nothing about their Mormon deception bears responsibility for his spiritual condition.

The Wrath of the Lamb

“And they said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?’” - Revelation 6:16-17

The gentle Jesus who came as a lamb to be slaughtered returns as the wrathful Lamb to execute judgment. His wrath burns hottest against:

False shepherds who scattered His sheep.

Religious leaders who taught works-based salvation.

Political leaders who used His name for earthly gain.

Wealthy believers who hoarded riches instead of making disciples.

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” - Hebrews 10:31

Specific Judgments Coming

Upon the False Shepherds

“Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall feed themselves no more; for I will deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them.” - Ezekiel 34:10

Upon the Political-Religious Complex

“And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, ‘Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!’” - Revelation 18:2

Upon the Wealthy Who Ignored the Gospel

“Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you!” - James 5:1

The St. George Indictment: Specific Failures

Failure #1: Refusing to Confront Mormon Doctrine

Every evangelical pastor in St. George knows:

- Mormonism teaches works-based salvation.

- The Book of Mormon contradicts the Bible.

- LDS temple ordinances are unbiblical.

- Mormon theology is polytheistic heresy.

Yet they remain silent. They prioritize social harmony over souls heading to hell.

“But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.” - Galatians 1:8

Failure #2: Prosperity Gospel Compromise

Southern Utah’s evangelical churches embraced “blessed to be a blessing” theology that:

- Makes wealth a sign of God’s favor.

- Encourages material accumulation.

- Avoids challenging the wealthy about their spiritual condition.

- Creates the same spiritual pride that damned the Pharisees.

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” - 1 Timothy 6:10

Failure #3: Political Idolatry

Churches became Republican Party gathering places instead of houses of prayer:

- American flags displayed more prominently than crosses.

- Political candidates endorsed from pulpits.

- Conservative politics preached as gospel truth.

- Social issues elevated above soul-saving ministry.

“You shall have no other gods before Me.” - Exodus 20:3

Failure #4: Comfortable Club Mentality

Churches catered to wealthy, comfortable members instead of reaching the lost:

- Avoided “controversial” doctrine that might offend visitors.

- Built expensive facilities for members instead of funding evangelism.

- Focused on programs for existing Christians instead of outreach.

- Created country club atmospheres instead of hospitals for sinners.

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” - Luke 19:10

The Tyler Robinson Generation: Products of Pastoral Failure

The Spiritual Vacuum

Tyler Robinson represents thousands of young people in Southern Utah who grew up in a spiritual vacuum:

Religious Training Without Gospel Truth:

- Raised in Mormon works-righteousness.

- Never heard the true gospel from evangelical neighbors.

- Taught to trust in human effort for salvation.

- Left spiritually empty despite religious activity.

Political Awareness Without Biblical Foundation:

- Understood conservative talking points but not Scripture.

- Knew partisan positions but not Jesus personally.

- Had cultural religious knowledge but no genuine conversion.

- Possessed moral opinions but no transformed heart.

Material Prosperity Without Eternal Perspective:

- Enjoyed comfortable lifestyle but hungered spiritually.

- Received earthly inheritance but no heavenly hope.

- Accumulated possessions but lacked spiritual riches.

- Gained worldly success but lost his soul.

The Predictable Progression

When religious young people discover their faith is false, they often swing to the opposite extreme:

Disillusionment with religious authority figures.

Rebellion against parental values and beliefs.

Radicalization through secular ideological movements.

Violence as expression of spiritual emptiness and rage.

This progression could have been prevented by faithful shepherds who spoke truth in love.

The Blood Guilt

“When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.” - Ezekiel 3:18

Every pastor in Southern Utah who:

- Knew Mormon families like the Robinsons
- Failed to share the true gospel with them
- Remained silent about works-based salvation
- Prioritized comfort over confrontation

Has Tyler Robinson’s blood, and Charlie Kirk’s blood, on their hands.

The 401k and Hunting Cabin Christianity

The Comfortable Shepherds

While Tyler Robinson was being spiritually poisoned by Mormon doctrine and online radicalization, Southern Utah’s evangelical pastors were focused on:

Personal Comfort:

- Building retirement accounts instead of building disciples.

- Planning hunting trips instead of evangelistic campaigns.

- Maintaining comfortable lifestyles instead of sacrificial ministry.

- Pursuing hobbies instead of pursuing the lost.

Ministry Maintenance:

- Growing church budgets instead of growing spiritual maturity.

- Building bigger buildings instead of broader Gospel reach.

- Creating programs instead of creating disciples.

- Managing institutions instead of making converts.

Social Status:

- Maintaining respectability instead of preaching repentance.

- Building political connections instead of spiritual confrontation.

- Avoiding offense instead of proclaiming truth.

- Seeking approval instead of God’s approval.

“But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” - Romans 8:9

The Sleeping Shepherds Judgment

“His watchmen are blind, they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yes, they are greedy dogs which never have enough. And they are shepherds who cannot understand; they all look to their own way, every one for his own gain, from his own territory.” - Isaiah 56:10-11

These “dumb dogs” who cannot bark saw the wolves (Mormon doctrine) devouring the sheep (young people like Tyler Robinson) and said nothing because it might disturb their comfort.

The Second Coming: No Mercy for Sleeping Shepherds

Christ Returns as Judge

The Jesus who returns is not the meek lamb led to slaughter, but the conquering King with eyes like flame and a sword proceeding from His mouth:

“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns.” - Revelation 19:11-12

Politicians Will Be Judged

“Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.’” - Psalm 2:1-3

Every politician who:

- Used Jesus’s name for political gain while supporting false doctrine.

- Claimed to be Christian while promoting works-based salvation.

- Built careers on “family values” while families spiritually starved.

- Collaborated with religious leaders to maintain power instead of proclaiming truth.

Will face the wrath of the Lamb.

Religious Leaders Will Be Destroyed

“Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall feed themselves no more; for I will deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them.’” - Ezekiel 34:10

Every pastor, minister, and religious leader who:

- Fed themselves instead of the sheep.

- Built comfortable ministries instead of making disciples.

- Avoided confrontation instead of proclaiming truth.

- Prioritized social harmony over souls heading to hell.

Will be removed from ministry and face eternal judgment.

The Blood Cry from the Ground

Abel’s Blood Still Speaks

“And He said, ‘What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.’” - Genesis 4:10

Charlie Kirk’s blood cries out from the ground at Utah Valley University. But so does the blood of:

- Every Mormon young person who died without hearing the true gospel.

- Every wealthy person who trusted in riches instead of Christ.

- Every politically active “Christian” who never experienced genuine conversion.

- Every family destroyed by works-based salvation while shepherds stayed silent.

The Tyler Robinson Family Indictment

The Robinson family attended LDS services regularly, participated in Mormon culture, raised their children in works-based salvation - all while living surrounded by evangelical churches whose pastors knew better but said nothing.

These pastors are accessories to spiritual murder.

“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” - Matthew 18:6

Tyler Robinson was caused to stumble by:

Mormon doctrine that taught works-based salvation.

Evangelical cowardice that failed to confront that doctrine.

Political idolatry that replaced gospel truth.

Prosperity theology that promised earthly blessing without heart transformation.

The Call to Repentance: Final Warning

To the Pastors of Southern Utah

Your comfortable ministries are about to be judged. Your silence about Mormon doctrine, your political compromises, your prosperity gospel, your failure to make disciples - all of it will be exposed when Christ returns.

“For it is time for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” - 1 Peter 4:17

REPENT NOW

Confess your cowardice in failing to confront false doctrine.

Abandon political idolatry and preach Christ crucified.

Reject prosperity theology and embrace sacrificial ministry.

Start making disciples instead of maintaining institutions.

To the Political Leaders

Your use of Jesus’s name for political gain while supporting false doctrine will be judged. Whether you’re Mormon politicians using Christian language or Christian politicians maintaining Mormon alliances - your hypocrisy stinks in God’s nostrils.

“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” - Revelation 2:4

REPENT NOW

Choose truth over political expedience.

Confront false doctrine regardless of social cost.

Use your platform to proclaim the gospel.

Stop serving two masters.

To the Wealthy Members

Your 401ks and hunting cabins will not save you from the wrath of the Lamb. Your comfortable Christianity that avoided difficult conversations with Mormon neighbors makes you complicit in their spiritual deception.

“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” - James 4:17

REPENT NOW

Use your wealth for gospel ministry
Share the true gospel with Mormon neighbors
Support pastors who preach truth instead of comfort
Stop serving mammon

The Tyler Robinson Monument

Tyler Robinson’s transformation from honor student to assassin should serve as a monument to pastoral failure in Southern Utah. Every evangelical church should ask:

How many Mormon families live within 5 miles of our church?

How many have we personally shared the gospel with?

How many have we invited to hear biblical truth?

How many remain deceived because of our silence?

The answers will condemn most churches in Southern Utah.

The Wrath of the Lamb Approaches

“For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” - Revelation 6:17

The sleeping shepherds of St. George created the conditions that produced Tyler Robinson. Their comfortable, compromised Christianity failed an entire generation of young people who grew up spiritually empty despite religious training.

Jesus will not skip over the politicians and religious leaders when He returns. They will face the fiercest judgment because they had the greatest responsibility and the greatest failure.

The blood of Charlie Kirk cries out from the ground. The blood of Tyler Robinson’s victims demands justice. The blood of every Mormon who died without hearing the true gospel because evangelical pastors stayed silent cries out for vengeance.

“Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

The wrath of the Lamb is coming. The comfortable shepherds who built their 401ks while souls perished, who planned hunting trips while families went to hell, who maintained respectability while truth was trampled - they will face the righteous anger of the One whose sheep they failed to feed.

The Tyler Robinson tragedy is just the beginning. Judgment starts at the house of God.

Repent, you sleeping shepherds, while there is still time. The King is coming, and His reward is with Him.

“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.’” - Revelation 18:4-5
